Well, here we go. I was waiting for the shoe to drop with my insurance company. I was very happy with the unfettered access to medical scans and care I've had under GHI-HMO, but now I can't get precertified for the Dillon Scan. I called and they said it was only for something like an endocrine carcinoma or a neurosomething. I said it was a breast cancer diagnosis. I have to have my doc call and appeal. Now, which doc is the question: my primary who didn't request it or the breast surgeon, who's not my primary, who did request it. It's $500 and I'm going to have it either way, but sure would be nice if they paid for it, ya know?
