Hubby is recovering nicely. A week without food took another 10 pounds off, so there is one benefit to being in the hospital! He has been suffering on and off since Christmas with this hernia and intermittent blockage, but this time, the blockage was not moving on its own. So, to make a long story short, he actually already looks better than he has in months. We haven't had any problems with going back on food, and no complaints about
the Atkins, either. I still have the abdominal aortic aneurism to hang over his head. Fixing that sucker, should we ever have to (he has CT scans every few months to monitor), will make this last hospital stay seem like a cakewalk. Fortunately, it has remained stable for the last 18 months or so. Taking weight off and getting the blood pressure down, I'm hoping it shrinks. Such optimism! Like we would be that lucky??? I'm seriously thinking we should change our last name to "murphy" and get it over with!
Love and hugs and mucho thanks for the well wishes...

PS...Joyce and Cathi, just warn me before you come. The 170 (and-a-half, as my vet always points out)-lb. rottie is a real "daddy's boy." I think we'd need Thorazine or whatever that stuff is they shoot elephants and such with. Perhaps Sue could send some! LOL
