An update on Leah's family

Hello everybody
I know some of you became friends of Leah through this board before she passed away in 2004 and Lori mentioned that maybe I should write an update on her family.
Her kids (now 12 and 10) are doing fine, they are growing up very fast especially Riley. They still talk about their mom and you can see some traits of Leah in both of them.
They stayed with Leah's husband who is taking great care of them, they keep busy through activities (morgan is very good at soccer, and Riley spends a lot of time at cheerleading...and on the phone, lol)
Both Alex and I stayed to help out for the past 2 years and an half but we are leaving the house soon. Alex got a job and I am going back to Europe.
The situation is still hard at times and nothing can replace Leah for the girls but they are strong like their mom...

On another note, my sonogram results showed: "no underlying abnormal mass. Dense fibroglandular tissue is noted (...) Suggest follow up and management based on clinical gorunds." I have my appointment on Friday. Do you ladies have any advice on what I should ask? Thank you and if you want to ask me any questions feel free to write to me

Thank you so much for giving us the update on Leah's family.  I was blessed in Louisville to have roomed with Leah and lucky enough to have had great candid moments with her.  She was so in love with her husband and the way she talked about the kids, it sounded like they were so full of vigor, as her personality was.  It was so hard to see her struggle and tire, but she didn't feel sorry for herself.  I'll never forget the post she started with darn darn darn darn darn and then told us about her brain scan.  She was so mad, but that was like her, never giving up a fight, but getting angry, not defeated.  I got a lot of strength from her.

I planted a rosebush in my breast cancer awareness garden for her, in her memory.  It's a pink rose named "prom queen."  She and I had a chuckle over the popular kids of adolescence when we were talking (I think it started with the cheerleading subject as a matter of fact).  We were very similar growing up and really bonded over that.  I thought this flower is beautiful, just like her.  Please give her family my best wishes.  I'm glad you stayed with them, please keep in touch.  I'm glad your test came back good.
