  Why is it that the goverment trys to hide so miny chronic or acute illnesses just becouse they don't know what is going on in the medical field today or is it that they don't want us to know the truth. CFS didn't really come out untill the gulf war and is now recognized as a disablity with SSI, but u still have to fight like hell to get it, but here we are having to find info for are own doctors that really don't seem to care but for the old mighty buck.

  I don't know but maybe that we as a ppl need to put a stop to the goverment turning there heads to are problem (not just CFS) but to all are medical needs. Just think for some of us that don't have medical insurance and have to find away to buy are meds that we need. Do you end up having to buy the most cheapist food that u can just to feed your family, even at the cost of your heath? Even with me having Diabetes as well I find that when money is short I pay the price just to feed my family with junk food at the store that is not good for you but it cheap food.

  Granted that I have a better food supply then some, that I have salmon and moose to feed to my family and fresh veggies from the garden. but just how miny of you don't have that resorce? I may live in Alaska that we can get are food from the land we live on, but I pay the price of getting a moose even though I may have horses to do the packing out for me and having my buddy do most of the work for me, other whys I wouldn't have my meat for the year.

  Somehow we need to get the mesage to are goverment that we are ppl that need help and that wellfair is not allways the anser(sp) I have send e-mails to are governer and the senator on this matter buy yet to hear back from one of them, I feel that more and more of us need to put in are two cents in on this matter and would like you to help and stand up and be heard.

  I know that this is a lot to ask but just when can we demaned the help that we need

The more research that I do I believe more and more that the government does not want use to know the truth about illnesses...and most doctors knowingly and for some unknowingly follow along. I’m finding that one curable illnesses can cause many illnesses if it's not cured…and why would the docs and the gov. cure that one illness when they can make so much money on the illnesses that it causes. I’m also learning that they are natural remedies that cure illnesses that doc don’t believe in ( I think that the gov has something to do with what docs don’t know). It’s funny how when cancer patients have no more hope in medicine they go to natural remedies and it works (my uncle is living proof). I can’t say that it works for all but it worked for him…he was at the 2nd stage and now it’s gone.

Doctors don't know what adrenal fatigue is either. Doctors aren't taught about it in school...so they don't know about it...and from my experience they don't want to know about it either. They say that there's no such thing...and they don't know much if anything about CFS. All they do is feed us anti-d's...in which I'm learning that ant-d's cause more problems. I've learned that Paxil has a chemical in it that lower thyroid function. I took Paxil for over 2 yrs. It's really sad...med's that we think are helping us is really making things worst...and you can't tell doctors that because they think that they know it all...and they don't won't the patient telling them what to do.

Doctors keep telling me that depression causes you to have certain kinds of pain when there is really nothing there. Please...please don't believe that! It turns out that I have low thyroid function...which causes depression and pain (tender muscles etc). It's really sad. A doctor also told me that my symptoms didn't fit one particular illness...but it does...Hypothyroidism. Idiot doctors!

My uncle is a pharmaceutical rep. and he tells doctors how to use meds and he has a degree in engineering...it would be different if he had a medical degree(some don't even have a college degree). I overheard him telling a doctor not to give a patient a med (that is pushing) if the patient is bleeding blah blah blah. I mean...who's the doctor?!!! Also, doctors promise him that they will write his prescription to help his sales. It's really sad!!! It's not because the med really works for their patients they write a lot of prescriptions...but because they like him they do. My uncle wins a lot of sales awards. When things gets bad for the patient then they change the med...sometimes it's too late.

Thank God for the Internet...because I would be lost...and I would have to travel to a library to find info. I probably would not have done as much research if I had to travel for it.

I'm sooo tried of having to bring printed info to my doctors to explain and teach them about my illness. My last visit with an internist I brought info to help her help me so that she could at least understand what I'm going through. She kept trying to give it back to me...and because she didn't do anything to help me (she only gave me an iron deficiency test which I didn't ask for I went to her for abdominal pain) so I took all my info back from her and left upset and disappointed. Oh...and she checked my reflexes. I told her that after I took meds 4 months ago I developed abdominal pain and I still have it. I don't understand! What does reflexes have to do with ab pain?! She an idiot doctor.

I believe that docs should work along with naturopaths (natural healing) or get a naturopathic license…but why would they do that…you know? Why would they cure the illness when they can make more money off treating the illness?

I think there are so many toxic things in our world right now. It's really everywhere - the air, our food, the water. It's no wonder so many people have cancer and chronic illnesses. Our bodies can only take so much. All of these meds are also a double edged sword. Some really really help some people, while they harm others. Some might help, but have the risk of terrible side effects. Sadly I'm to the point where I couldn't function without some of my meds such as my pain meds and my prednisone. I agree that docs seem to hand out anti-d's like candy. If you are fatigued and they can't find a reason they stick you on anti-d's. The docs had me try 3 different ones when I finally had to tell them "no more". I had severe and dangerous side effects to each one - my brain does not like the chemicals in the anti-d's. I try as hard as I can to get organic and natural foods and try to have filtered water. Freezing, in some ways I envy the way you live in the rural wilderness of Alaska (I only envy where you live - not what you are going through). I have always loved the outdoors and when I can manage it, I feel the best when I can be outside, especially in the mountains. We have talked about moving to Colorado because my symptoms improve slightly whenever we are there - I think it's the drier air and climate. SO many people have moved to Colorado though that it's becoming polluted too. Okay, I'll get off my soap box now.

  Your right on that doctors are becoming more and more just drug pushers when it comes right down to it, they don't know how to help you. My wife works at a heath food store that sells natural remedies and I get alot of free remedies from her reps. some help some don't that I have tryed, but her sells have been going up and up and the books on natural remedies she has a hard time getting them and they sell like craze.

  I have found that most of the meds that my doctor gives me have such bad side affects to me because I can't handly the chemical compounds in them. As one chemical guy that I found when I frist started having problems from work put it ( Todays chemicals are like driving down the road and the white lines are the chemicals that hurt us say 10 parts per million the body can handull and as you drive down the road with a million lines on it, talk about hundreds of miles of roadways just how miny times are you going to hit that white line before you have to much toxicins in you that your body starts to shut down and in todays world these toxins are all around us).

Just how miny ppl must die before we are heard

Granted I'm not a greeny and trying to stop the world we just need to put are foot down and make a call or email to are goverment and the medical pros. and the schools that teach them of are needs. I wish that the mods here could post this thread in all the forums here, we need help

I agree, toxic chemicals that we eat, breathe, use...and most of all the toxic chemicals in our meds that we take are causing our illnesses. We are made to think that we need our meds until later on we see a law commericals about a class action law suits for the med that we're on....and that med was supposed to be better than the rest. At that point we then realize that the med that we're taking may have caused our problems.

In the future, we're going to have to do some type of detox everyday just to stay alive.

I'll bet when pharma companies find out about the toxins in meds can cause major problems they keep it hush hush from the doctors and us too...until many people die...because one person dying is not enough.

Doctors love to try to prescibe me ibprofen. And when I tell them that I can't take it, it hurts my stomach, they treat me like a drug addict. Not my regular doctor, but emergency room visits. IBprofen really makes me feel crappy and kills my stomach. I think they get a "kickback" for prescribing IBprofen, and anti-depressents. None of these meds help me. I have tried taking anti-depressents and after a few weeks of taking them, I got suicidal and almost died. I just can't take them, yet they are more than happy to give them to me.

I also have an unrelated horror story about my last visit to the ER:
I made the mistake of breaking up a cat fight, they were my cats, it was a Friday night around midnight. I was tired and not thinking clearly. My cat ripped me to shreds. He hit a vein in my hand and blood was squriting all over me and my husband. Gross. Anyways, my husband runs me to the ER. We are both covered in blood and they immediate assume that my husband beat me up. Until I showed them the claw that was stuck in my wrist.

It hurt like hell, my adrenaline was pumping so hard that I was shaking and my teeth were chattering. I told them what meds I take and they wrote them down and put me on a bed in the hall. Aparently, there weren't any rooms. They treated my wounds and I asked for something for pain. I told him that I didn't need a prescription for pain meds, but was in alot of pain. He looked at my chart and said, "why don't you just take one of your pain pills?". I told him that #1 I didn't bring any (how stupid of me to assume the hospital would have some #2 that I am only supposed to take my rescue meds for breakthrough pain. He gave me a percocet and acted all put all. I was really angry. The pill ended up cost me like $13. One pill. One little expensive pill that he made me feel like crap for asking for.
