I have been posting a thread on the gerd portion of healing well. My recovery from the TIF procedure had been slow for some reason. Went through many days with diarhea and no apetite period. Then when I described my symptons which included extreme fatigue, no stamina and light headedness and dizzy to my surgeon, he ordered some blood work and an EKG. The EKG showed nothing though I really do not think much of the accuracy of EKG's, I do see a cardiologist annually so I feel I am sort of safe there. The blood work showed an abnormally low potassiun level and some thyroid problems.
3 weeks later I returned to work but only made it 2 days, again dizzy and a "sinking" feeling when I did any activity, I was sent back to doctor who did a vitamin and mineral blood work up and nothing showed up. By that time I had written down all of my problems and symptoms for him, which helped. He ordered a thyroid check, B-12, Vitamin D, Testoerone and just on a hunch Epstein Barr. The testosterone was low, the vitamin D was low and to my complete surprise I have Epstein Barr.
I have no idea how I contracted this, I have no idea what I can do but I definitely want my life back. I have no inclination to retire at 52 years old but I also know I can't go to work in the state I am in. Doctor has ordered me off work 2 additional weeks, put me on zoloft and vitamin D and come back. Is 2 more weeks of rest really going to make a difference? There is so much confusing info on the web that I really hesitate to read any of it. Any advice?
