Dexamethasone for Pc caused CFS, any ideas on SEs?

Quincy-This is very interesting to read.  I have had CFS for almost 3 years now, and have tried a lot of supplements and meds to give me the best quality of life possible w/in the boundries of safety.  I have had success with an ADD medication called Vyvanse, and also with saline IV's.  Those bring me to about 75-80% of my pre illness levels of functioning. My doctor just brought up dexamethasone as one to try on a limited basis in place of the vyvanse to see what happens.  You mentioned that you felt spunky after taking this.  Were you wired up?  Hyper in any way?  I read that 1mg is the average dose, but you are taking 5mg.  I agree, the SE's are something to consider when taking anything steroid related, but increasing qualify of life is so valuable.  Perhaps one could take this intermittantly to avoid too many SE's?

I am currently taking 1.5 mg of Dex weekly along with 20 mg of Vyvanse.  I have gained back a part of my life on this treatment plan that I have missed for almost 3 years.  Not sure if I can continue this indefinitly, but it has really made a difference in my functioning.
