my chronic fatigue story =/ (also i need some advice)

I've had CFS for about 4 to 5 years. Before I even got diagnosed there was a lot of going to a million doctors and them not knowing what was wrong, finally there was one doctor that came to the conclusion that I had CFS, it took so long to even find that out because a lot of doctors don't believe in CFS which can get frustrating because they make you feel like you're crazy and making things up. But with CFS I sometimes get these spells, that's what I call them, where I get lightheaded, dizzy, hot/cold flashes and it gets hard to breathe I've had a few times where I've passed out completely and got up and didn't even remember falling out. I also get headaches a lot, I have one about every day. My memory isn't all that great either since I have had CFS, like sometimes I can't remember what I did the other day. Having CFS I stay sick a lot since my immune system is very low. And I'm always very tired no matter what. To say the least CFS has been a big burden on me, I had to drop out of highschool because I was missing so many days of school from being sick. I don't really get out and do a whole lot because 90% of the time I don't feel good. It seems like sometimes I get really bad panic attacks out of the blue, I don't know if it's like truely a panic attack but maybe something like it like I'll have trouble breathing and my heart feels like it's going to pound out of my chest, not a good feeling. CFS is really hard to live with, a lot of people don't understand they hear CFS and they think oh you're just lazy because they don't take the time to try and learn anything about CFS and what it truely is, I'm so glad I found this forum it's nice to be able to talk to other people who are also living with CFS and can relate.

Well onto the advice part lol, I was wondering what do a lot of you do job wise? Is it hard to keep a job because you do have CFS? I'm 19 and haven't ever had a job, because I got diagnosed with CFS at a young age I didn't have the chance to go out and find a job like a normal teenager, don't get me wrong I'd love to have a job but I don't know...I just don't know how it would work out because a lot of people wouldn't want to hire someone that stays sick all the time you know. Are there online jobs that you do? or anything?

Hi guessheiress and welcome. I'm sorry that CFS has caused so many problems in your life and that you aren't getting much relief. I don't know how much you have read about CFS, but it is really common for people with CFS to also have anxiety. I'm not sure about the spells you are having where you pass out though. What does your doctor think about it? I haven't heard of that happenening a lot. The forgetfullness is definitely part of CFS.

I can't help a lot on the job front. I recently resigned from my job because of health problems. I was able to work part time for a while, but then I just kept getting sicker and sicker. You can always look for a job to do from home just make sure it is a reputable company. Maybe some of the other members here will have some ideas for you. Hang in there and take care.

thanks for replying to my post I try to read up on CFS as much as I can so I know more about it, I read up on all the symptoms and everything but I don't think I've heard of anxiety from CFS. I didn't start getting anxiety until hmmm about maybe a year or so ago. It just started all the sudden and hit me like a ton of bricks, it's really not a good feeling at all to have that's for sure. All the doctors that I've been to like I said 9 out of 10 don't believe in CFS I had one doctor say I was anorexic and was making up having CFS he was the worst doctor to have, I'm of course no where near anorexic and never have been and for him to come up with that stupid mess just made me angry, seemed like he was trying to take the easy way out so he wouldn't have to run any tests and so on. Anytime that I have been to the hospital from passing out they don't say much even though they read my health records and see that I do have CFS they just hook me up to an I.V. with a bag of fluid and after that just send me on my way and that's about it.

 

That's what I was thinking about doing trying to find a job that I can do at home, I've been searching online and have yet to find anything. Well anything that doesn't look like a scam, which can be frustrating doing all this searching and finding nothing but scams about making thousands of dollars instantly by working at home.
