ok...3 yrs of severe illness with no diagnosis and a lot of BS about
"it's all in my head"...long time of depression, frustration, anger and bitterness and the hand life dealt me and a few more years being sick and i think i may have discovered one thing that seems to have honestly worked... on every possible symptom...
im a health and fitness nut... now this doesnt have much to do with working out so don't run away thinking i'm telling u to just work out more and u'll feel better (NEVER the case with me!)
about a month ago i decided to give this highly well known book by one of my favorite authors in a fitness magazine called "The Eat Clean Diet" by Tosca Reno...now WAIT! It actually ISNT a diet... it's a lifestyle. it's all real, normal food you buy in the store (although some of it you may not have had before... yams, sweet potato blah blah blah)... the jist of it is avoiding all processed foods and low nutrient quality foods (much more info and detail...i mean it IS a whole book)... anyway since starting pretty much all my symptoms have gone into remission (knock on wood). I did light exercise before with major consequence severy time...but i refused to accept i was sick. now... i can jog! i jogged last week for the first time in yrs...for 15 minutes, alternating with walking...then did 30 mins on the elliptical...and 45 mins of weights! first... i cant remember ever doing weights and having energy to finish a full half hr...let alone 45 mins! second... i havent done that much cardio EVER! within 2 wks of starting to implement everything into my diet i noticed a MASSIVE improvement. I had tons of energy, i felt energized or at least not exhausted to the point i felt like dying after a workout... the aches and pains subsided... physically i feel like a million dollars. i can even get 7.5 hrs sleep and not wake up feeling like i died!
i'm sure it's not a fix-all for everyone and it can be a very big change in eating habits for some people...for me, i've been eating healthy from a very young age so the changes werent too too overwhelming... but i suggest everyone try it... i really do believe that the processed foods (even if they were low calorie, low fat, low sugar, sugar free...even sweetener affected me really badly) have a really negative effect, at least on some of us. i really hope this helps other people get better... any questions just ask... i want everyone with cfs to at least try this... as long as u stick to it very very closely i dont see how anyone on earth wouldnt benefit from it...if nothing else your skin will look amazing and you'll be super healthy and live logner! and feel GREAT about yourself too!
