Hello everyone, and happy new years. I wanted to share my 'NEW' experience with hydrocodone. First of all I wanted to say I'm on kadian and in the process of being tapered off by my doctor. Well, I've used hydrocodone hundred's of times over the past 6 years, but I havent taken it for awhile. Well I got a bottle of it about
a week ago and took them to help with breakthrough pain and got very very very sick on them. It's like my body decided it's allergic to it now. about
a week ago I took 2 5mg around 8:30 pm and fell asleep about
20 minutes later, then woke up around 9:30pm with very severe nausea and vomited about
5 minutes later and kept on vomiting like crazy every 10 minutes. at around 2am I couldnt take it anymore, I had nothing in my stomach to throw up but kept on anyways so my stomach started to hurt very bad and went to the ER. first the gave me zofran thru an IV with fluids, then when that didnt work they gave me phenergan with diladid and it still didnt stop the nausea, actually I didnt stop throwing up til 9am that morning, that's 12 hours of vomiting up non-stop!!! I didnt even know it was possible to throw up that much. Well I didnt know if was the hydro and took another dose that night with food and got this very weird taste in my mouth and still got nausea. Is it normal for my body to decide it doesnt like this med anymore? It's not like Im not use to narcotics or anything, I am very tolerent, but I'm so confused on why it made me so horribly sick?? I told my doctor this morning and she just shrugged it off. I'm gonna call around tomorrow for a new doctor but til then I dont know what to do. I'm in pain but vomiting is way worse to me, and the taste in my mouth is like I was sucking on the hydrocodone instead of swollowing it (which I wasnt sucking on it). Does anybody know if this is a normal side effect at all or anything?? I know the nausea and vomiting can be but that nasty taste in my mouth and the anxiety is driving me crazy!!
thanks again
