I saw that a few of you had posted about
tiger balm and I was wondering how well it truely works. I get deep muscle pain that it seems no matter what I do or take, there are places in my shoulders and back and are so tight and knotted nothing seems to get deep into the area to even relieve some of the pain. Would this be a good option to try and get the "kinks" out?

Welcome armywife and thanks to you and your husband for your service. I've never heard of Tiger Balm but my ortho doc prescribed a lotion to apply to my shoulder which I get from a compound pharmacy. It may be similar and if it is it works wonderfully. I've even had it adjusted a little to give a bit more heat. The lotion has several differant substances in it including a numbing agent. Ask your doc about
it.
Have a Blessed Day

I think this is something that is available in the pharmacy over the counter, isn't it? For some reason I am thinking of the big green can...is that the right one?

Hi Sue, yes its available OT. No, its does not come in a green can, lol. It comes in a very small round bottle, about
the same size as Carmex. Don't be fooled by the size, a little goes a long ways. Susie

Mochiah you are thinking of bag balm... an ointment used for dry skin, or cow utters!! I saw this post because my husband used to live in Singapore and Tiger Balm is very popular there and may even be from there. I think the US version is a little less potent.
