Hello,
I am currently going to one of the major university hospitals in Chicago, I have been seeing a pain mangement Dr.there for just about 4 years. Things at first were going ok, and we (me and the Dr.) were adjusting meds as needed and even trying a newer meds as my symptoms changed, from time to time we made adjustments as needed. Now at my last office visit I was told that I am on too many medications and increasing the dosage is not going to happen, also that I should consider seeing a surgeon. Yes I do agree that it's in my best interest to use less not more, given that I do understand, but I feel the Dr. has given up on me. I have always suggested trying new treatments or medicatons to replace the narcotic mix I am taking now, I know there are other treatments or medications out there that we have not even came close to running out of things to try. I have made it a point to suggest fixing the cause of my ills, not treating the symptoms, I feel abandoned at this juncture. I have started to make arrangements to see another Dr. this morning. So what is going on with the Dr. I am seeing now, am I just to complicated of a paitiant or unprofitable because I am on medicaid? it is plastered everywhere on my paperwork, Also my GI Dr. seems to be doing the same as he refused to see me while I stressed I was having serious issues with the crohn's and my treatment, I had to wait 1 week till he will see me, I go tuesday. to the GI Dr. and a follow up for the pain management Dr. next month, any advice?
