Jim M,
DiLane's post should be a letter to the editor. It should be sent to congress people.
It should be sent to Obama. I don't know who else. Tell me.
I do not think it's the kind of thing that should be handed over to the doctor.
They either know the facts and are sorry for the way they have to treat us. Most
likey they just don't care. You've got to find the right doctor. You have to have
a good relationship with your doc. For some reason my pain doctor sings when
he comes in to see me. I have learned not to ask any questions. What do I
do? I sing back. I've already had all my mri's and they know the only thing for
me is medication until the time when I can't walk (or worse)
I am not suggesting that anybody else sing to their doctor. The doctor would think
you were nuts. What I am suggesting is that it is vitally important that you get
them on your wave length and be pleasant. After all, the man or woman who
prescribes your opiates is the person who kind of holds your life (or your quality
of life in their hands)
DiLane: Are you a professional writer? I don't know copyright rules on forum
material. I don't know who you are but I'll ask anyway ... Do I have your
permission to send this material to my local paper. (Gannett) I will use some
of my own writing along with it.
