Hi I am new to this website but I feel so desparate at the moment and hope I can get some help.
I have been suffering pain from a trapped nerve for the past 3 months. The pain goes from my neck, shoulder blade, shoulder, underarm, chest, all down my arm and elbow. I have been back and forth to my GP and he has prescribed various medication to help with the pain. I have also been visiting a Chiropractor just recently twice a week. She didn't do the normal clicking stuff, it was really an alternative approach which to be honest I didn't really believe in. I suffer terribly from Health Anxiety and was terrified that I had a spinal tumour so went privately for an MRI scan. The conclusion of this was Spondylotic change throughout the cervical spibne. Most marked as C4/5 but no convincing neural compression.
What I cannot understand is if there is no convincing neural compression why am I still in so much pain. I also get tingling in my should blade. The pain doesn't really bother me at night and tends to get worse as the day goes on.
Has anyone else suffered anything similar with the aching in chest and rib cage as well as the shoulder and arm?
I would be so grateful for some reassurance as I am now convincing myself that the tumour must be either lower down my spine where they didn't scan or in my should blade or ribs.
Also I forgot to mention, I have good movement in my arm, it doesn't hurt to move it, or for that matter my neck, unless the pain is really bad then it does a bit.
I started playing tennis about 5 months ago (obviously haven't played since the pain started), just once a week for about an hour, but wonder whether that has anything to do with it.
Thank you for taking the time to read my thread and I am sorry if I have gone on a bit too much but I feel so anxious and it is completely taking over my life at the moment.
I am 52 and have suffered on and off for years with neck/shoulder problems but nothing ever as bad as this.
