24/7 pain its horrible

On december 17th I went to the dentist to have a wisdom tooth removed , since the freezing subsided I have been in pain  .I even went back to the dentist on the 22 and they stuffed a solution into what they thought could be dry socket " very small dry socket " according to the attending dentist . (the dentist who extracted my tooth will not be back until the 29th ...merry F'n christmas to her) Last night I drove to the city to ER and received an antiinflammatory/pain shot in the butt to calm things down ...it really helped for about 8 hours and noticed I had really forgotten what it feels like to live without pain ...I'm talking about swelling and infection all the way down my throat, a clicking jaw , pressure in my ear and mouth , and numb/tingling jaw with tylenol number 3s every four hours night and day for the last 10 days  . I wish I knew what was going on I was fine before the extraction I am quickly failing to remember what life without pain is like . Do I have a broken jaw , did she crack the tooth or jaw beside that extracted wisdom tooth ??? afterall I clearly remember telling her I could feel her bicep trembling and vibrating wildly as she applied trumendous pressure to get the tooth out . She ended up having to break the tooth into 3 peices to get it out because as loose as it was it wouldn't come out . This pain and the amount of pain killers I'm taking can't be good for me .I am not well and am hoping for a near future recovery because combining loads of pain killers with my other heart meds could be very dangerous My throat is so swollen I can hardly swallow without coupling over in pain .I am now terrified of all dentists and doctors one can only hope they can help us but the more we see them it seems the more we need them mostly for their mistakes and failure to be cautious  ....Thanks for listening

It sounds like you are very ill. I think you should go back to the ER ~
An ambulance doesn't seem like too much considering what you've said.
Call the ER and tell them what happened.
Call your pharmacists and tell them.
Where's your internist, GP, or pain doctor?
I do not have a clue as to what's wrong with you.
I think you should take some steps toward correcting this situation.
Infections can get very bad very quickly.

they gave me two meds today one is Apo-Cefuroxime 500mg (cefuroxime axetil ) and Nu-Diclo 50mg (diclofenac sodium) for pain. I havn't yet looked them up no results yet since I'm just starting them but one sounds like a placebo . I can hardly function and just feel like laying down which I'll do once I google these meds .... oh my... neither are for pain I'm going to go lay down now , thanks for you input .

I am alive and the meds are working ,  it took roughly 10 minutes to begin killing the inflamation in my throat I honestly thought it was large cancerous growths of some kind . Still mildly sore glands but I can swallow now . I'm pretty happy the pain is not so severe I can't believe I put up with that much pain for that long even with pain meds . I guess they just were not strong enough . Hopefully now I only have to deal with the withdrawal from all the pain meds .I know its going to happen because there is no way a person can take that much pain meds and not suffer from withdrawal . Hopefully this thing is over and life can get back to normal that was more stress than I've probably ever had or can recall . Sometimes things happen which makes one wonder if they are on their way out this was one of those times .

This is my up date and all looks good thanks to those who listened I needed a place to vent my pain thanks for letting me do that .

Sue, you have tmj? I have been looking for someone to share there experience. I also suffer from severe constant headaches on a daily basis due to a tmj disorder. Maybe we should start a new thread?

 I don't even know what tmj is ... you know what I know I'm not the only one to experience such pain even with pain meds (which I can't stand pain meds) but why does you or I or anyone have to go through that much pain hell I might as well have been stuck buried under an avalanche for 10 days with broken bones there would have been no difference . I still get that tingling numbing sensation like dental freezing on that side of my face as well as on my tongue and lips and occasional pain when the anti inflamatory wears down  . I never asked for pain meds I just want/wanted something done to correct a wrong ....

Johnny, I have no idea why you are feeling so bad but if you mentioned a dry-socket I have been told they are quite painful. My mother had one once & whenever I have had teeth pulled I have always been cautious so I could avoid one. I don't know about the weak knees & so forth.... that should be something you talk to your PCP about. Hopefully you are feeling better after your new scripts. BTW, TMJ is more commenly called locked jaw, its a real condition, my best friend has it as a result from a car accident. Most of us on here suffer from chronic pain due to our backs, necks, etc... We battle it everyday for years upon years. I always love to hear about people who get better, and even though you only had something wrong with your tooth- I am glad you are getting some relief. I have had an absessed tooth before & they can really hurt. Just make sure you keep them dry! Thats all I know about a dry-socket. Hopefully you can get it cleared up soon! Let us know how it goes! And have your leg issues gone away with the additional medication your dentist gave you? I think you should have that looked into.... but we are not drs. Good luck & keep us posted!

Pamela, whats going on with your landlord? Is everything ok?

Probably should start a new thread on this - but it sounds like you've got good reason to think that something's not quite right, because it's not. Paranoia is when you have a fear in the face of no reasons. You've just listed several. Could this be part of an eviction process (of the tennants who are hostile) and/or a scam from the landlord? There's so much going on now in the housing market.
