awww, she sounds adorable! Animals certainly are a lot of work, especially dogs, but if it is practical to have one, they sure make up for all the work with the love the give! But sometimes it's better when you can just visit for a day & not have the full-time responsibility! smilewinkgrin

Glad to hear everyone's feeling a little better, having to stretch anything out just is as inhumane as can possibly be. I have a 6 month old Blue Merle Great Dane who I just got neutered. Poor little guy (92lbs) took everything, leaving nothing to show the ladies, not even golf balls in his color!

The vet made sure he was supplied with enough pain medication to make it through the week of bed rest. He even called to see IF he might need MORE! It really is a sad day when animals are treated with more compassion than human beings. My dog had no insurance company to fight with that likely speaks volumes.

hep93...SSDI what a farce. I, like you, applied for food stamps and all the other demoralizing BS. The back-pay went back to all those who helped me. I know I am an exception to the rule, most people are not as fortunate as I and literally become homeless or die fighting for an entitlement not as the ignorant see it a hand-out. People who have never applied for SSDI have no clue the screening process and the denial rates. Did I adopt a child 13 years ago to become disabled 10 years later? Do I find it profitable going from a 65K a year job, to getting less than a 1/4 of that? I swear if I could get my hands on the CD SSA has I would post the entire transcript for ALL to read. They're like a Masonic society making human sacrifices. Sorry for the rant, get well!

Hey PA, juggling medications is so awful. What in the world were ya doing shoveling snow at 11:00 at night, had to have been bitter cold out. WOW. Frances, are you dealing with a LTD company or what on your pay? That sounds like what LTD companies do to the people. I sure hope you can get some answers soon, like money, Take care everyone. Susie

It's pretty late in the evening! I'm getting worried about ya! I hope you have made it to town okay and gotten the prescription without any trouble or annoyances from the pharmacy. I hope you are snuggled up warm and comfortable and getting some much needed rest right now.

Let us know how you are doing when you're up to it.

Hurtzallot, I've never heard of anyone having to repay those agencies that helped you out when you needed it.  All I received was food stamps, but nobody asked for anything to be paid back.  Of course, what my aunt supplied was just between us--actually a part of my inheritance that she gave to me early as she knew I needed it.  She only sent money on a monthly basis.  Bless her heart, she passed away Dec. 8th, but I had flown to see her in her final days and let her know how much I appreciated all she had done for me.  Without her help, Lord only knows what would have happened to me.  And you're right--the govt. really doesn't care.  They try to hold out as long as possible, in the hope that we will give up...out of necessity...and resume work.  And we are only trying to get what we are entitled to--what we have been paying into through years of working.

PALady, how are you doing today?  I hope you were able to get your meds and catch up on some sleep!

Yes, I finally got home an hour or so ago. Had a little work to do today (very little) and errands - trying to get ready for the bitter cold we're going to have the second half of this week.

Well, I got the percs, although not without a couple of questions and a "look". Never had that from my local CVS crew. Never. And this place is so tiny there is absolutely no privacy. Then I had called late last week and again last night on their auto refill system to have two other meds refilled - not pain meds, but my seizure meds and those are more critical than anything. Those weren't filled, so after I had waited for the percs and went to pay, I realized the other med wasn't there. Then the one tech is on the computer talking to me saying how the insurance was refusing to pay because I get a 45 day refill. I have NEVER had a 45 day refill of my seizure meds. 30 days, and today was the last day. She proceeds to say how I had it filled on the 12th of last month and I said that's right, and today's the 12th. I normally don't have any trouble getting it refilled (these are not controlled substances) a couple of days early. I hate to run down to the last couple of pills on that even more than my pain meds. Pain I can deal with for awhile; having a seizure is a whole other matter entirely! Anyway, I finally got them all filled and I left and had to fight the tears because I hate this place. It's the hospital that laid me off and i hate even walking in. And then in yesterday's paper they had a position similar to mine advertised. I don't even want to apply, but I began to realize I'd never pass a job that required a pre-employment physical. That's another issue entirely! Enough for now!

So glad I had all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. And speaking of that....the Valentine M&M's are on sale! Now a person who didn't closely look wouldn't have found them, because lots of the regular M&M's aren't on sale and I was kinda bummed until I saw the new display!! So I'm happy to tell you I've already tried them out (had to before I came here to write you) and they're so pretty - different shades of pink, red, and some white! When I first slid a few out I thought they were pills!

Ok, I'm going to read a bit more, and try to warm up. And the coldest of the cold air isn't even here yet!

I stepped into a nightmare.
I'm sorry this happened to you, PaLady.
There is such misunderstanding, greed, and
lack of caring among the people who are at the "top"
They care not. They don't "get" intractible pain.
If you'd had Cancer, it might - just might -
have been better.
Something in the culture causes this lack of caring.
The information that you share with us is understood,
of course. Here is where we "get" it.
Now the thing ... You gotta get this to the sight of those
people who are in a position to change things.
At the same time, you must keep yourself safe
from controversy.
I wish you the best.
What a thing to come home to!!

I'm glad to hear that you made it to the pharmacy & got your meds (despite the setback with the antiseziure meds). I'm sorry t o hear that they gave you "looks" though. I just switched pharmacies too, since our old mom & pop pharmacy is now too expensive with our new insurance plan, so I'm going to a chain store now & I definitely got quite a few looks as a new client coming in with a sizeable oxycodone prescription. I just can't wait until next week, because I think we are going to switch meds, which means even more evil stares. But I guess it isn't all that much different for me since our old pharmacy changed hands a year or two ago & ever since, the new pharmacist/owner started giving me "looks" even before I was taking pain meds -- back when I was trying all sorts of nerve, anti-seizure, migrane, and anti-depressant medication (I think it was just because I was in there pretty much every other week for months). The old owner was really nice, but I never cared for the new ones. They just made me feel uncomfortable no matter what.

Thanks for the info about the Valentines M&M's smilewinkgrin! I'll have to go pick some up soon. I think those are my favorite holiday colored ones! I was going to go out today after my doc's appointment to run some errands (including an M&M/chocolate run), but I was just too upset after the appointment & just ended up driving home in tears instead. But tomorrow is a new day!

Stay warm with all that artic air coming! We are going to be hit with it too. I just can't wait smhair shocked.
