Hi......just taking a "silly" break to check in. I am busy pondering over my income taxes.......Ekeeeee!
Sun is shinning through the window and I feel pretty good.
Yesterday I had a series of neck x-rays at the clinic and mid morning today when I checked my personal page for my Health Provider I could already read the radiologist report and following that my doctors comments to it. I sent off a quick e mail in response and it also will be a part of my chart. Now how is that for modern medicine.
x ray news......just slow continuence of neck degeneration........scar tissue developing after all these years. yada yada......

Well Hello Andrea!
Taxes! Yuck! I'm going to owe a bucket load this year! "Da more Ya make Da more Day Take!!" I had a good year money wise working but I think I lost more on my 401K than I made this year> I'm working for nothin! Oh thats not true, they do pay for half my health insurance!
I'm glad to hear you didn't get any bad news on your test results. Geeze, you must be one of them there Poindexterets! Tracing your results through your PERSONAL page and psting a picture of your ddoggie and> was that you in the picture Andrea? I put my reading glasses on and still couldn't see your face but I could tell that you had a beutiful wittle Pup-Pup next to you! Does he play nice? By the size of him, he looks like he could hurt you (not on purpose of coure) just by bumping into you!
I'm in bad shape today with my back> Cold weather & stress!! EKKK!!

I hope what you describe is what will happen with medical records in the future, and not just an in-office computerization, or a "between doctors" system. I think it's great you could access the records AND respond to your own records. That to me is how it should be. Yes, it will be a risk as far as our records probably being hacked into (the risk is already there, IMHO), but how much easier that would be than running around trying to get records, and trying to tell a doctor your symptoms, response, etc. And if we kept our responses to the point, it would have to make it a little easier on doctors, as when we came in for our appointments they'd already have updated info. on all fronts.
My fear is what my PCP does. It's an in-office system that "fills in the blanks" on its own; in other words, if a particular system isn't checked, it automatically adds WNL or No Pain reported, etc.
Good luck with your taxes! Would you believe I just finished mine in October for last year. Government makes it way too easy to get what's now a 6 month extension!!

Quick response......I have limited access to records.....ie any blood tests mri's etc. Only doctors notes on my tests. My doctor also notes his comment. I then can choose to send my comments which I am sure are reviewed first but since I sent it it has to be included in my full chart. A good way sometimes to give a complete rundown on your sx and you know it is all there and nothing missed.
I gave my opinion of the x-rays....then updated on how I was doing on new meds since I saw him. I feel more confident that if the DEA ever does a routine check on the opoids I am taking my comments would help clarify the matter.
When my Dr. appt is over he hands me a copy of his recommendations.....new orders ...update med list and allergys etc. This is done with every appt. Great I can carry that copy with me when I travel.
The name is HealthPartners and I have been going to them since 1987. (used to be called Group Health back then) At first they were my provider through work and now it is work comp.
What a let down when I go see my pcp at another clinic (with my insurance) Love my doc there tho and they do mail out copy of test results with handwritten Dr. comments. (takes about 10 days)
I love the quick response at Healthpartners. I can make apps etc with "my page" and refill meds.
Have to run...feeding time for big dog. Pete....he was only 7 months old on that picture and is twice the size now and is very careful not to bump me. (how does he know) If I can figure how to transfer a nice picture with my almost new MacBook I will do so of him. Anyone have a Mac to help me? I have them stored on PhotoBucket to transfer to message board but my Mac won't do it like my old windows system did. I had a blast with him for two months in Texas this fall .....we camped on the beach in my motorhome for free. Only campers the whole time.

I have a Mac but it's an older one. And I'm not up on the photo end of things. Don't even have a digital camera or a cell phone (can't afford either!). But I do know that Mac's are pretty intuitive and that if you "feel" your way around a bit you'll likely stumble onto how to do it. There are also a lot of help message boards on the basic apple support site.

Andrea, can you e-mail me a picture? My e-mail is listed behind my name. Then I can send you one of my pets! I understand if you are not comfortable doing it and thats fine too! No hard feelings, the internet is a big bad place, I'll tell you a story about what happened to me sometime! Almost time to get out of Dodge. These 10+ hr work days are a killer when the pain gets over a legit 6 - 7!!! Yikes!!!

Update.....Pete, I figured out a roundabout way on Photobucket to get my Mac to transfer pic here. (several steps) If you like I can give you instructions so you can post a pic of Angie for everyone to see.
Guess this site won't let our pics show without clicking on "view". Don't know why......the picture in itself is a direct link to photobucket so it does not increase the bandwidth here.

NICE! Happy PUP's having fun> They are beutiful! Looks purdy cool up in then parts! Very nice to look at but I think I'd rather have a sunburn!

My pcp also uses a similar computerized medical record system. It's great because like you mentioned, you can view the results of your tests/any comments, which is very convenient. I can also e-mail my doc. He is so much faster at returning e-mails than most docs are with phone calls! Lately I've been updating him at least once, if not more, a week! Or if he doesn't hear from me in a few days time, then he e-mails me to see how I'm doing. I find that e-mail is the simplest, most effective way to talk with him.
Oh, and your dogs are precious!
