I hope what you describe is what will happen with medical records in the future, and not just an in-office computerization, or a "between doctors" system. I think it's great you could access the records AND respond to your own records. That to me is how it should be. Yes, it will be a risk as far as our records probably being hacked into (the risk is already there, IMHO), but how much easier that would be than running around trying to get records, and trying to tell a doctor your symptoms, response, etc. And if we kept our responses to the point, it would have to make it a little easier on doctors, as when we came in for our appointments they'd already have updated info. on all fronts.
My fear is what my PCP does. It's an in-office system that "fills in the blanks" on its own; in other words, if a particular system isn't checked, it automatically adds WNL or No Pain reported, etc.
Good luck with your taxes! Would you believe I just finished mine in October for last year. Government makes it way too easy to get what's now a 6 month extension!!
