I was prescribed these by my pain Dr. yesterday for a strained Rhomboid muscle in my back . I got them but am reluctant in trying them . Has anybody tried them and what was your out come. I have heard some have good luck other nothing

I've tried them. Unfortunately they didn't help me, but I definitely wouldn't be hesitant to try them if I were you. They are essentially transdermal ibuprofen - all the benefit of ibuprofen without the damage to your organs! :)

I am also very curious how they worked. I kind of looked them up, and although they dont sound very strong it does sound benifical to bypass the stomach as an ibprofin based drug has its fall backs on the liver. Report back!

Personally I like these but it took using them for a few days, they do nothing for major pain, but after the major pain has been eliminated by oral pain medsn these patches get rid of the crampy lower back feeling that I ALWAYS have. Sometime's my back pain is too much but a lot of times the Flector gets rid of it.

Hello Razzle, Flector patch is not ibuprofen; it is transdermal diclofenac a NSAID. If it does not work Arthrotec is diclofenac and misoprostol. Misoprostol is a postoglandin analog which protects the stomach and GI track. If your insurance will not cover it both components can be gotten in generic seperatly.

I have been using these patches for several years and they do wonders for my lower back pain and shoulder pain from my fm and arthtris pain plus i take meds also

My insurance quit paying for them i get 60 a month and they cost almost 400 dollars but my doctor wrote then a letter and they started to cover again

What a timely post. These were prescribed to me on Monday. I haven't really seen much from them yet but it's still early. My pharmacist had never prescribed them before, so she didn't really have anything to tell me. Anything I should watch out for?

among a lot of other pain meds, the patches are costly, but my rhuemy gives me samples & coupons that help a lot.  i use them for both hips due to major burning & pain during the night.  they hurt during the day but not that much.  anyway, they r a miracle for me.  i tried to elminate some of my other meds but i have to take all for everything to be effective.  sometimes i try not to put the patches on and sure enough the burning at night is unbearable.  so, now i put them on everynight, with skipping just one night to save on money.  good luck they're worth it.

I like my flector patches. They don't reduce pain the way the lidoderm patches do and I use them for pain that is more associated with inflammation. I get to put them on the spot and I generally use them at night, while I sleep, to help relieve pain from arthritis in my neck. They do make me sweat more.
I like that I can use them instead of pills, some of which leave me a bit wonky and mess with my sleep sometimes.
