My dr. changed my prescription from ambien to lunesta. With ambien I had to take on an empty stomach do I have to take lunesta on an empty stomach. I hope lunesta works I need some sleep.

Lunesta never worked for me, but it should say on the directions that come with the prescription if you should take it on an empty stomach or not, and usually the doctor will tell you. If it didnt came with any information on it then call the doctor that prescribed it or the pharmacy, butn I remember not having any issues with eating or not when I took it. But I found lunesta to be very weak, even my friend that took it would still be up all night after taking it. I think I'm gonna ask my doctor about rozerm cause I need to get some sleep.

I was on Lunesta for a short period of time, but it was a while ago, so I don't remember whether or not I took it on an empty stomach. I'm sure you can look it up online if you google "lunesta" or "lunesta drug facts," or something along those lines. I think that the reason for taking sleep aids on an empty stomach is that they are then broken down & absorbed into the blood stream faster, because there is nothing else in your stomach to digest & slow down the process. But don't quote me on that. I'm sure your doctor or pharmacist could tell you as well.

Well I took lunesta last night and it is nothing when I took ambien and it was working it put me in a comatose sleep for like 7 to 8 hours. lunesta put me in a light sleep for about 4 hours. I slept from 9 pm-12 am. but didnt have any side effects from it only a little grogginess not like ambien and I also taste this metallic taste in my mouth.Lunesta also gave me a headache hoping that goes away soon. I hope everyone has a lpd.
