Rheumy gave me a better muscle relaxer that Internest dr. - YEA!!

My Rheumy has given me Robaxin, my new muscle relaxer. I'm not sure about the dosage she's thinking about, but I'm going to ask. It said I was to take 3 pills at 500mg 4 times a day.

You know what I only took 2 pills earlier today and my butt was knocked out, but I still woke up with pain, at least I did get some sleep though and I feel more myself.

Plus I'm firing my DR. tomorrow - errr sort of.... It's like this, I have to call tomorrow (Thursday) and get in line for my new dr. that I will be seeing in August.

Glad your Rheumy was able to help you, sounds like he/she listened to you..
It's nice when doctors will listen to us, sure hope you'll be able to get more sleep...

The pill are nasty tasting so I cut them in half and take them tath way then they aren't so nasty. (shutters) Yes, I got some sleep last night YEA!!. I woke up in a little bit of pain but at least I got some sleep.

I haven't heard of this muscle relaxant before. I just got off orphenadrine citrate as it wasn't doing anything for me, but make me feel very agitated and confused. Are there any unwanted side effects like this with Robaxin? Besides the sleepiness? How much did it help your pain, exactly?

Oh, and make sure you don't cut them in half if they have a time-release coating on them - it can introduce the medication to your body much faster than intended.

Hara very glad to hear you got a new muscle relaxer and some sleep too. Robaxin has been around for quite a few years, its one of those for some reason drs do not rx alot, why I do not know. I do remember years ago, they helped me alot with neck spasms.

I hope they will continue to give you relief.

That medication has been around for a very long time and I always found it very effective! When I was in the military I was often prescribed Robaxin for severe muscle spasms in my back! I found it took a little while for it to work, but work it did! I am glad you are getting some relief!

I found robaxin to to work very well for like a week then it quickly stop working for me. I wonder wh ythe doctor prescribed 3 500mg at once instead of just 2 750mg. I also use to always choke on the 500mg round pills, it was scary. But it makesm e mad that whenever ask for a muscle relaxer they wanna give me this med, and I always tell them it doesnt work very well after a while, same thing with flexeral. But I've kinda given up on muscle relaxers persiod even though I know the right one would probably be great, but they either have too many side effects, dont work, or my insurance wont pay for it. But I'm glad it's working for someone.

Hara posts: If Robaxin has a coating on then it sure isn't working to take the nasty a-- taste away otherwise I wouldn't break them in half. I've only been able to get one whole one down so far without breaking it in half.

I really don't have any side effects with Robaxin (aka: Methocarbamol) except for the fact they tast nasty and sometimes I can't get them down.
