White Beard,
You know, we have had some wacky weather fronts coming through these past few days! Broke a record high temperature on Sunday (only second 90 degree day this entire summer, and the last one was in June!). Very hot and muggy today, bad storms, possible tornado touch down just south of here (was that your vibes????? LOL). Supposed to be clearing up by Wednesday so hopefully they'll get through.
Something is blocking my brain about
that antidepressant. I'm going to do a little research - but I wondered since you were starting on one did you discuss cymbalta at all? I can also help some with pain.
BTW if your vibes can't get through, just send me some fangs!!! ;-)

p.s. Ok, WB, now I know why the name didn't immediately click. It's the generic for celexa. It's one of the newer SSRI's. There is an extended release version, lexapro, should you decide you want to stay on this. But if you haven't filled the script
and you've never tried cymbalta, I'd call your PCP back and ask if you could try that first (although you may want to check your insurance - some make you have trials of other anti-depressants before they'll pay for the cymbalta, but if it's prescribed for pain instead of depression you may be able to get around it).
Celexa probably has fewer side effects than some of the other SSRI's (prozac, zoloft, paxil).
Just FYI - cymbalta works with more neurotransmitters than just the SSRI's. It combines SSRI's and SNRI's (serotonin and norepinephrine receptors) and that's why it seems to help more with pain. But as with any meds you know the story - everyone is going to be different.
10mg is also a low starter dose, so if it doesn't work you just may need an increase. With cymbalta the starter dose is usually 30 mgs., but 60 mgs is usually needed to help with both pain and depression.
Hope this helps and that I'm still making sense at 2am!
PPS. WB I see you're online now. I hope you start a thread of your own and tell us what's happening with you. I have a feeling you could use some support and aren't asking for it.
