Good evening CP Family,
Sometimes there are things I wish I never had to hear. Though I seldom say anything negative or try to give enlightment on common misconceptions... I find those simple phrases, misconceptions, and common sentences linger in my mind long after they are said. How about any of you? Have a sentence or phrase that stuck in your mind? Negative misunderstandings towards those with chronic illness? Here are a few Id like to write out, get off my chest and let go...
"Arnt you USED to pain by now?"
"Why cant you just hurry up?"
"Atleast you can still function."
"Atleast you have doctors that give a ****. Mine kicked me out."
"Why are you always so positive? Whats WRONG with YOU?"
"Can you just do the yard work and be indifferent about it?"
"You better be feeling better!"
"How can you WALK if your in so much pain?"
"Atleast you don't look like you sick, except for the weird thing with your hip."
"If you take pain medication obviously you cant be in pain."
"If you dont make your doctors give you a diagnosis you even more stupid than I thought."
"Everyone knows pain clinics are for junkies with insurance."
"Oh you take antidepressants, so your like, mentally sick or something?"
"You just need to stop taking all that medication and go to a homeopath."
"Why don't you just drink more milk?"
"Atleast you can see out of the other eye."
"Just jogg in the mornings and you will feel better."
"Obviously your doctors are keeping you sick to make money."
"Your a burdon on the system."
"Can't you just get over it?"
"Atleast your husband supports you. Maybe I should get sick and then my husband would love me too."
................................
There, that feels much better. Now it is time to forgive and forget.
