I have a hard time trying to remember everyone. With everyone having a forum name, I don't know if they are female or male, don't know where they live, their family status, their hobbies, their pain stories and I would like to know everyone on a better level. So I was wondering if we could do a post which we can refer to, to get to know each other better. I know a lot of you have been here for a while and know each other well. My memory is terrible and I can't remember anything. Maybe if we stickied this post to the top of the list and then anyone can refer to it when they want to. Is this OK Chutz??

TMJPain, My name is Suzane.

I am 51 years old.

I live in Ottawa, Ont.

Married to a wonderful man.

Have two boys, 19 and 21. The oldest has moved out.

I am a part-time paediatric nurse,

Have been on long term disability for a year.

I have had bilateral, temporal headaches for over ten year.

Have tried every doctor, procedure, treatment we can find and still no answer to the pain.

My headache has been constant, 10/10 for two years.

My hobbies are camping, kayaking, boating, fishing, biking, reading, knitting, crocheting, beading, gardening, scrapbooking.

I am on Facebook if you would like to hook up there.

Can't wait to read all about you and then get to remember you better.

scool  Just curious about your name..... Are your head aches from TMJ????  I'm new here and have heart problems, but  just saw your post and had to ask about TMJ.

OK, I'm a 49 yr old female that loves the outdoors and horses.  I have had a heart attack and I've also had TMJ surgery.  I was treated for migraines for 3 yrs before my jaw locked up one day and I called my dentist who said "don't you have headaches" we need to talk about TMJ.  Do you have TMJ?

  Tmjpain, I have complained of this very thing! Some of the names look like they are male names, only to find out they are female. I also posted a reply to you, about a way to get ahold of me so we can join up on FB. Did you look it up yet?

Hi Suzane! I am a new member here and don't post that often, but here is my info anyway!

My name is Tammy, I have a 2 year old little boy named Jaden. I have been married to my husband for almost 3 years. We live in Indiana.
I have all over pain, still in the process of being diagnosed. They are thinking Fibromyalgia. I have migraines, painful periods, pelvic pain and chest pain along with the back/neck/shoulder pain that is thought to be the Fibro pain.

My hobbies are beading, Karaoke, candle making, crocheting, any sort of crafty thing, I'm into! LOL I love to sing, especially to my son who is my biggest fan. My husband and I also sing together at our local VFW. We sing country music mostly.

I am also on Facebook if you'd like to talk more there! Hope you talk to you soon!

My name is Cathy Witt and I'm on FB too. I've been married for 40 years to the same man, go figure, and we have two grown daughters, Sara is 38 and a teacher, Kari is 31 and a RN. They both are married and we are lucky to have them close here in the same town. I retired in August 2007 from a small rural hospital where I was the HR director for 20+ years but worked at that facility for 33 years. My husband still works but plans to retire in 3-4 years.

I enjoy learning about new people too and like this.

I think you idea is a good and valid one, but I would also like to remind everyone and possible recommend, ....... As long as you are a member and signed in all you have to do is click on the l repeat persons name and you will then go to that persons user profile, and most of the information that most are putting down can be put in the your user profile. The advantage of this ( as I see it) is if you are not a member of Healing Well and not signed in ( say you are just a causal one time looker at this forum) well then if you click on a persons name all you get is sent to the Log On, and your information is not available to that person. Where as what ever you put down in your post is available to everyone who wants to look at it, member or not signed in or not signed in! Personally my suggestion is for people to go to their Personal Profile and update it and put any and all information that you would like to share and have others know about you! That is just a suggestion on my part, I am going to up date mine is just two minutes! As I agree it with you Suzanne it is nice to know whether your talking with a male or female and knowing a little bit about them. But the nice thing about doing it the way I suggest is at least you are only sharing it with the members of the forum!



Another option is putting the information in your signature block, where allot of us list our medications and diagnoses! The really good thing about doing that is that when ever you look at that person post, that information is right there too! But the bad thing is everyone member or not can see it! And going over and trying to edit my profile I can see that there might be some problems getting in all the information one might want to put down. But the signature block seems to be a really viable option at least as I see it now!

I tend to agree with White Beard that whatever info. someone wants to post can be put in their profile, and if someone wants to post an e-mail and share more they can. I choose not to do those things for my own reasons. It's important to know that anyone looking at the forum can pick up a name, identifying info,, an e-mail address, etc. that's put in a post and I don't think the forum actually has a rule against it but I think they recommend against it (you may want to check the forum rules).

Healing Well also has a facebook site. Now I'm not FB, but it's fine if you are. Part of it is I have an older computer and a dial up connection, and many sites take a long time for me to access. Posting to the forum is enough for me, but I know many of you want more. So maybe look at the other options the forum offers, including HW's FB site. I think the administrator was hoping more peope would join it.

I did have my email available for all members to view but not anymore. At one time we had someone pose as a new member but they were trying to get people to go to their site to buy some new way to cure pain. Their post was deleted but not before I got a junk email from them trying to sell me something. This is why my email is not available anymore.

I am a female, age 52, and live in Ohio.
