Well, Christmas is a week away and of course I am not ready. The shopping is not finished either. Where did all the time go so fast? I am living in lala land I guess, I can't seem to keep things straight in my mind from one minute to the next. Anyone else having this problem? One thing I do seem to be doing is spending way too much time with drs. Maybe that is what is throwing a wrench in the whole thing. I think I am getting a little overwhelmed.
Last Sunday my son talked me into going and buying a real tree to put up rather than dealing with the artificial. Probably was a smart move on my part. I bought a 7 1/2ft Noble Fir as I needed something narrow since it is on the staircase landing where the dogs cannot get it. We got it in the stand and set it on the landing fit perfect. Well, my front yard lloked awful, so since it was 60 degrees out Sunday, I mowed down the front yard, actually had to go over it twice it was so bad. Then I took a look at the flower bed along the walkway and decided it looked awful too. So, I cleaned it out and put down two more bags of mulch.
So, after all the yard work I put my net lights on the bushes and got the husband to hang my wreaths in the windows. Gotta tell you, the mowing kicked me right square in the arse, gawd I was so tired when I finished with all of that. I went in and showered and thought ok I will lay down here a minute and then get up. It was already dark by the time I went inside. I fell asleep and slept will midnight. Then I was up prolwing all night like a cat in this house. Had to be quiet and did not like that. Around 6:30 I got tired again so I went in & laid down and set the alrm to get up at 7:30, never heard it go off. So, I missed my Bone Scan appt. oh I was so mad. Tomorrow I have to call and reschedule it.
Monday night after the little one went home I managed to get lights on the tree. At midnight last night I got a second wind and stayed up till 5:00am decorating the thing. At least it is done. I have decided against dragging out a bunch of stuff to set out and around in the house, be happy with my tree and call it decorated.
Saw my ortho yesterday and he looked at my arm and what little extension and flexion I have. He said I probably will not gain anymore than what I have right now which is not much by a long shot. I am to continue with PT at least that will help strengthen the arm. I was a little surprised when he said that. I told him I have 4 visits left over the next two weeks and did not see how I could get where I need to be in such a short time. He said not to worry, the PT folks will let him know if it needs to be extended.
Had an appt with my gi this afternoon that got rescheduled for the 31st which was fine with me. He got called to the hospital for an emergency so they were running way behind.
Yesterday was the grandson's school program. Oh, it was a hoot, I love watching those little ones up there singing and trying very hard to do what they are suppose to be doing. Of course there were parents and grandparents down on the front row with cameras and video cameras. My little Texas Tornado put on his big cheese smile and was trying to sing thru clinched teeth with that big smile plastered on his face. I just cracked up watching him. We had one little boy that was the leader of the pact, you could hear his little voice very loudly over the other kids. What fun it was to watch them.
Tomorrow will be a busy day. The tornado gets out of school early so he will spend the day with us. He & I are going to bake sugar and iced Christmas cookies. He is all set for that. He does like to bake and help. Tomorrow no dr appts at all.
My daughterinlaw pulled a real stupid stunt today. She was at work and parked up in the front right by her store. She left her purse locked up in her vehicle so someone broke the window out and stole her purse. My son was livid when he found out she left her purse in the vehicle. I kept my mouth shut, she called bawling because she found it after she got off work, her mom had brought the tornado to her work. Well, there was glass all over the inside of her truck so we went and picked him up since glass was all in his carseat. I kept him over here for awhile till she got home and calmed down. She knows better than to ever pull a stunt like this. This time of year people go nuts and do all sorts of goofy things. They looked for packages and purses in these parking lots and she knows this, what was she thinking. The good news is she only had her drivers license in her wallet. But, high deductible and paying for a new window. I never leave any sacks out in the open in my car, always put things in a trunk. I never carry a purse this tme of year either, always have my license and debit card in my jeans pocket. I do not wear any jewelry this time of year either.
I hope everyone else is in better shape than me in trying to get ready for the big day. Monday is going to be my shopping day, no dr appts that day either, lol.
Lets hope for plenty of low pain days to get us thru the holidays.
