I think it is so cool to "meet" someone on this forum who lives so close by! Our medical history and source of our chronic pain are also very similar.

P.S. Can I ask who your pain management doctor is, and are you happy with him/her? If you prefer not to that is fine. I am considered a very complex, difficult case for many reasons, and despite a lot of searching, I haven't found the right one yet.

For over 10 years I have been traveling 2 hours each way to Morristown, NJ and although I adore my present PM, he feels that he has done all he can do for me and has been encouraging me to at least get a second opinion or at best find someone who has the time to experiment with different combinations of meds or maybe someone who is involved in clinical trials or something.

I'm in NW Ohio, about 60 miles from the Ohio/Indiana border!

Tell your husband that I'll take him fishing if you ever make it down this way! Google Crystal River or Homosassa and it will tell you about our area and the fishing/wildlife/rivers/lakes/gulf. We have both salt water and fresh water fishing here. If he likes bass fishing in the fresh water, we have some gigantic bass in the lakes & rivers around here! I mostly fish inshore salt water for redfish, sea trout, snapper, grouper, snook, tarpon & sharks>>small ones> (I can't handle the big ones anymore!) but go for bass once in a while!

You're pretty lucky to live in such a wonderful place Pete. We would both love it there. We both like to fish but DH is crazy about it. We love to go camping in the summer so we are very outdoorsy type people. We have a great place to camp where we can fish for lake trout. Hubby does an awesome fish fry with a blackened seasoning. OMG it is sooooo good!!! i love bass too.. that makes a great fish fry as well. Now you've got me excited about camping. We will start with the long weekend in May. i will google your place to see some pics!!

I don't mind telling you who my pain management doctor is- His name is Dr. Carter- he is right in Newburgh, at Seaport Orthopedics. http://www.seaportortho.com/physicianspecialties/painmanagement.html
He's a very sweet, caring doctor and he isn't like some of them that we read about. The staff is terrific too, and they are all very caring people. I've been going there for three years now, so I have gotten to know them all pretty well. In fact, I talk to some of them off work hours, on facebook etc....one of my former PM doctors moved to Puerto Rico and he still checks on me through facebook and at the office. They are good people there.
