We use melatonin here and it works great..........in fact, one of our sons has adhd and he doesn't sleep. His pediatric neurologist suggested it for him and since he has taken it at night, he sleeps so much better. In fact, he feels rested, so the rest of his day is not muddled by his lack of sleep. We used to be up all night, every night until after dawn and sometimes even longer.
Since it is a natural sleep substance found in the body, and after trying many , many other options to try to get him to sleep, we gave in and tried it. He takes a small 3 mg. tablet and he is asleep in half an hour.
I also take it and it helps me get to sleep as well. But I take a bit more than he does.
