Surgery is all over!

Hello Guys,

I just wanted to let you all know that my surgery went well (keep your fingers crossed that it stays that way).  It went so well, in fact, that they released me before 11:00 AM (and the surgery started at about 8:15).  Even the hospital personnel were shocked at how quickly I was able to come home.  They were too funny because they told me I would have to wait for a while to come home because I had been given pain meds (1mg dilaudid) and I kind of had to remind them that I already take 8 mg a day.  My PM Dr. didn't even recognize me because he had never seen me without makeup and hair (or dressed for that matter) and I'll probably have to remind him that I was even there when I see him again on Thursday for my regular appointment.  He was very good though!

They were very gentle with my back and thankfully I haven't had too many problems since the procedure.  I'm in some pain, but not near as much as I would have expected.

I slept all the way home and then have been resting and sleeping since I got home.  I just took a little break to get up and see my little girl a while before she goes back to grandmama's house for the night.  I don't think I'll be up to driving for a few days yet.

Thank you all for the positive comments before my surgery!  I really appreciate you all!

I'm so glad to hear that the surgery is over and went well AND that your back isn't much worse off! All great news! Take it easy for the next couple of days & give your body time to recover. Hope there's not too much post-op pain & discomfort tonight.

RM, I am so happy to hear that your operation was a success and you are already back home recuperating. Please make sure you follow all the instructions given to you, especially any regarding lifting...it's very important to not overdo it!!

I hope you have little or no pain as you continue to recuperate. Rest up, take it easy and please...feel better soon!
