Hello All,
I'm having some major increased pain in an area that had not been a problem for me before my RFA a few weeks ago. During the procedure, the PM hit a nerve than "ran" around the back of my buttock and then "ran" the hip and the groin area. I've never experienced any major pain in that area before and it is really bothering me...especially when I get out into the cold at all or when I do any walking more than just inside of my house. It's become very bothersome since the procedure. As most of you know, I fell at a store recently too, but the pain does not seem related to that fall because of where it is and the fact that I felt the same pain during the procedure.
I'm hoping it's just an irritated nerve (since I can't use NSAIDS or Steroids). If this is the case, do you think it will "heal" on it's on after a while? Also, they set up an injection for around the 10th "if I needed it", but the only thing I can inject is Lydocaine and that does little to no good. They told me to call and let them know if I didn't want to have the injection done and I could still come in for my regular med pick-ups and my regular apts (about every three months). Either way, I'm wondering what to do about this extra nagging pain in the left side of my back, buttock, and groin area. I know it traces that nerve, but I don't know what to do about it. I can certainly call and cancel the apt with an explaination and I certainly do not want any more needles in my back right now, but I'm uncertain how PM will see the cancellation. I can not go in for a Dr visit without procedure because the office is very specific about coming in when they schedule and doing only what is scheduled.
Overall, I'm very happy with my PM (and he's the only one around within reasonable driving distance), but I have to admit that I'd like a litle more personal contact.
Any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks All!
