Hello Trufflecat!

Welcome to the forum! You are the second new member that I happened upon this morning, and I wanted to officially welcome you to the CP forum. If you don't mind, would you be willing to share a little more about yourself with us?

I see that you are on pain meds, but you have not said for what issue you are being treated for. I think you will really enjoy this forum, and we have the best members on the internet to say the least. smilewinkgrin

One thing I might suggest, is to read the Chronic Pain 101 article at the top of the main forum page, and while your at it, it is always a good time to read the forum rules as well.

Please do feel free to post as needed and either share your experience about CP with us, or ask questions of the membership. We have a great group here! smilewinkgrin

Hi Trufflecat...

And Welcome to the CP family! What a fun name...any story behind it? Most of us have an interesting tale behind the screen name we use and it's fun to share. Mine is the nickname we used for our previous, and most favorite Golden Retriever. When I joined the forum I used her name/nickname and it's stuck pretty well. ;-)

I hope to hear more from you and look forward to meeting you soon.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Let's see...the name sort of evolved, but I like to cook and am always willing to try new and exotic recipes. Mushrooms are a particular favorite...so many diff kinds!...hence one form of truffle-the other one being those melt-in-your-mouth chocolate goodies. And cats...well, what would life be without a cat?!

I have rheumatoid arthritis, dxd about 1994, but it was later changed to "connective tissue disease" because there were other things going on that didn't fit. Hit me hard and fast. So much pain...but you know it's like childbirth...I don't really remember it. Thank God. From the RA I developed Pulmonary Hypertension and have about 50% lung capacity now. Arrithmia(sp?). Enlarged heart. My doc gave me 10 ys, 5 yrs ago, with diminishing quality of life. Although the 2 meds I am on for it, Trecleer and Revatio, help my breathing amazingly. Am on O2 24/7. Circulation in my legs is a big problem. The unlucky left one has keeps getting celluitis, and any wounds I get take months to heal. Had 3 skin grafts. Right now, 2 large sores on left calf that are slow to heal. Developed from a spider bite. Oh, yeah, add that I carry an epi pen for bee stings and am highly allergic to other insect bites.

Jeez Louise, I don't usually write all that down! What a mess! Anyway, I also play PetSociety if anyone else does, though am really trying to get out of it!

Hopefully along the way I can be a help to someone like I could have used at various times.
