Aww Chart. I'm sorry your appointment got cancelled yet again. Four times is just rediculous. No wonder you're mad. I would be mad too, and with all the pain you're going thru. It's just not right. I wish you luck with the appointment on Tuesday. I pray that it doesn't get cancelled too. Big soft hugs for you.

Some days life just stinks! And this is one of yours, for sure. I think I would be writing a letter by now. If this doctor has to cancel that many times then he's over-booking. I'm guessing he gets called out for emergencies more frequently than he can handle and then those who have appointments are the ones who take the hit. I've left doctors for that type of treatment and gotten a new referral from my PCP. It's easy...just ask.

When a doctor makes me wait over a half hour for my appointment consistently then he's telling me that His time is more important than Mine! Not a change, buddy! Each hour of my life is just as important as anyone elses' and just because you can charge a large sum for your services doesn't make you any better than me or any other person who is needing medical help.

But you can write and make complaints. One to the doctor himself and another copy can go to your state medical licensing board or whoever oversees doctors in your state. You might get brushed off but at least you'll have gotten your point across. Enough people complain in writing and they will talk to him about it. Other physicians don't appreciate these doctors giving them all a bad name.

OK, I'm done spewing but this is a sore topic with me. The doc I've been going to for nearly 20 years has been late maybe twice...and I go often. One of those times was when a neighbor child was hurt and since he is set up for emergency surgery/stabilization he put that child ahead of the patients who had appointments. No one cares because it's so rare he's called out. The other was also an emergency but in almost 20 years to only have 2 late appointments is a wonderful record. It's most often that if I get there a few minutes early that he sees me a bit early...rarely a few minutes late. Just how he does it. Sometimes I don't need much time for my check-up (monthly) and others, like this month, I needed to talk for a while. When he sees you need to talk he sets down the paperwork in his hand and goes into listening mode. So when I don't need much of his time it makes up for when I do. It evens out by the end of the day.

   That is just terrible. Not acceptable! You really need to speak with your doctor about why you have been rescheduled 4 times. If he doesn't give a response that truly warrants the lack of care.... yep, I would look around for a new rheumatologist on the side. Just to have your ducks in a row for if this problem continues. That way when you toss up your hands and finally say, "I cant do this anymore!" You already have another option ready to go.

   I have had to be rescheduled for all sorts of reasons, but normally I am seen the very next day. A few times because I just could not wait any longer to see the specialist. Other times for emergencies, weather and even recently a broken air conditioner. I have never been pushed off to a full week later. That just isn't acceptable. They usually work with my schedule to get me in as soon as they can.

     I really hope your new PM doctor can get you in to be seen. I can well imagine the pain has you at your wits end! Try to take it easy if you can. Your are always in our hearts and prayers here.

I'm so sorry this happened to you again. I wish I could say someting that would help, but I think I would just be repeating what everyone else has already said.

There is a reason for this.....I have no idea what, but I know thre is a reason.

I hope you never have to face that nonsense again and I feel for you too (and your husband) because he took off of work to be with you at this apt and now may have to ask again for the 5th time. I'd make sure he has a note from the Dr's office advising of the cancellations, the dates, and so forth (including the new date) to turn in to work just incase.

Thank You Everyone, it's just been such a bad week...last night when I log off
one of my kitties got startled, I don't know by what and he either bit me or clawed me
I rinse it under hot warm with soap (2 deep gashes, on left wrist) put some antibotic
ointment on it, it sure did hurt bad and kept it elevated most of the night, it
still hurts a little... and my kitty is no worse for wear...sure wish I knew what sparked him..
he's usually so laid back, for a cat...and hopefully that's as bad as this week will get.
no more bad stuff....
