I am new to this forum. In response to Screaming Eagle and Mrs. Dani conversation on MRI's... I live in the Tampa Bay area and there is a MRI clinic that charges $320 per level, if you pay all of the money upfront. They have a payment plan, but you will pay 2-3 times as much. They are called Signet. And for anyone who lives in the Tampa Bay area or has one of these facilities nearby, in need of a MRI, give them a call and check it out. They are the only MRI place I can afford, since I do not have insurance.
I am 34 years old and have been on oxycodone for 3 years now. I have degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis, congenital narrowing of the spinal cord, radiculitis, and fibromyalgia. Today I went to several pharmacies and most places were out of oxycodone. Most of the people I encountered at these pharmacies were in search of oxycodone as well. Now the only pharmacies that have any oxycodone are the mom and pop shops, to which some of them are charging $5 per pill. I was "lucky" and found only for the "discount price" of $3.50 per pill. Walgreens charges me $116 for my prescription.
This is the second recall that I have been through. And it disgusts me that these little mom and pop shops hoard supplies of this necessary medication, wait for the recalls, and then make a small fortune on price gouging. The first time this happened I made several phone calls to find out if this was legal. Much to my surprise, I was told that the pharmacies can charge whatever they want! Now that there is a shortage, these pharmacies are no better than the street dealers.
To all of you who are going through this stress of trying to find your medications, I understand and feel your pain. Hopefully something can be done about this.
