oxycodone and hyperalgesia?

has any one observed oxycodone has more of a chance of getting your receptors all worked up after long term use? Oxycontin, Roxicodone, Percocet, Tylox/OXY-IR another way of asking is have you noticed more of a smooth, level effect with other opioids: Morphine, Oxymorphone, Hydromorphone, ect.?

Hi. I'm on plain oxycodone now and i've been on morphine in the past and i don't see a difference. Remember, people are wired differently and can have different side effects and things happen with different meds. I hope that helps. Take care. I hope you're having a low pain night.

Hi Soldier-I started on MS Contin then went to Oxycontin and found there wasn't any difference with one causing more pain but taking MS Contin for 2 years my Dr. switched me to Oxycontin about 1 year ago. I've gone from 120 Oxy to 60mg as I was concerned about that also but sometimes I take 70 or 60mg if pain level is high. I don't think I have hyperalgesia from Oxycontin. Sara

No, I haven't noticed either. I take ocycodone and have for years. I have tried Morphine and Oxycontin, Avinza and many many other long acting medications, but they all give me side effects and truly don't work as well as the oxycodone.

Recently I switched from Percocet to plain Oxycodone and have noticed that I need some ibuprofen sometimes in addition to the oxycodone, but other than that, no hyperalgesia.
