Brain lesions

It may be best to wait until you hear back from the dr on this. One thing I noticed is the nurse did not say the dr needs for you to schedule an appt to come in so he can discuss this with you. This leads me to think the dr feels what showed up is considered insignificant. If she did you didn't post that little bit of info. I am afraid if you try to look this up on the web you will get yourself in such a tailspin and it could be for nothing and that kind of stress is very hard on the body. Maybe you need to call back and schedule an appt with the dr to discuss this.

I think its terrible that the nurse was the one to call and then could not give you a decent answer. That would not have sat very well with me. They should have known a patient is going to ask questions and she should have been better prepared for your call.

Please try to remain calm until you can get some better info on this. I know easier said than done.

That was very unprofessional of that nurse...she should have NOT mentioned something like that before the dr. has a chance to discuss it with you.  But what's done is done...she was just flat wrong.  I'm thinking that, like Straydog said, this may be something insignificant since the dr. hasn't talked with you or scheduled an appt. with you.  So, with that in mind, I think you should stay calm and not worry.  There actually are many things in our brain that can be described as "lesions" that aren't a danger to us....so I'm crossing my fingers for you.

Your situation reminds me of something I went through, several years ago.  I had an MRI of my brain because I was having severe headaches.  So it was Friday evening and I got home from work, turned on my answering machine to hear my dr.'s voice saying:  "You have a tumor in your maxillary sinus cavity, so I am sending you to a neurosurgeon...Call my office to discuss further."  Well I was terribly worried over the sound of "tumor", so I immediately tried to contact my dr.  She wasn't on duty and the on-call dr. knew nothing of my case.  I had to wait the entire weekend before I could finally reach her later in the day on Monday.  Anyway, come to find out, it was actually just a nasal polyp.  So all that worrying for nothing.

Straydog is right.  This kind of stress is really bad on your body.  Especially with the diagnoses you have.  Please just try and occupy your mind by doing things you enjoy, so you don't stress about this.  I hope everything turns out ok for you.  Please let us know when you find out.

 

I still have not heard from my doctor, I called yesterday morning and left a message with the nurse that called me originally, then yesterday afternoon I called and spoke to the receptionist and explained my situation and she said to leave another message with the nurse, which I did. Still no phone call. I called again this morning and left a message with the receptionist as no one answered the phone. I know they are only open till noon today and I am going out of mind with anxiety and concern, what should I do??

Thank you all for your prayers and kind words, I FINALLY heard back from the nurse late friday afternoon and she had spoken to the doctor and he was going to just keep an eye on it and would talk to me further about it at my next appointment. I guess I'm taking this as good news, and will try and keep a positive attitude on this. I will keep you all posted as soon as I find out more. Thanks again for your well-wishes!!
