Oh Loretta, I am so sorry that you are going through this again. Is this becoming a monthly ordeal? Have you spoken to the office manager at the doctor's office and explained that you are forced to go through withdrawals frequently because of your doctor not being in the office or writing your script
s when you need them?
I am in the same boat with transportation. The medicaid transportation available to me does not take patients to the doctors I have to see, and the doctors in the areas they service refused to treat my complex issue. So I must find a ride every appointment if my hubby has to work, and it stinks to be at the mercy of others.
If I were you and reporting the issue to the staff director is not an option, I would simply make a monthly appointment for med checks so that you can have them hand you your script
while you come for your checkup and any tests required. If they do not allow monthly appointments, then remind them you wouldn't need them if they could get refills of prescript
ions handled in a timely manner that did not leave you in withdrawal almost monthly!
I am so angry for you! I would be in that office firmly reminding them that my business helps pay the bills, and that this was not acceptable any longer. Is the office owned by a hospital or medical group that you could go to someone who deals with treatment issues? I know my PM doctor is affiliated with a hospital, and freely posts cards for the patient advocates in his office with a large poster in 4 languages that tells you who to call if you are not happy with your service or are unable to get the treatment you need. He has encouraged me to call them when I had issues with no insurance to apply for charity care. Most large medical offices are required by state HIPPA laws to have such services for when patients have privacy and/or policy issues.
I am praying for you. Try to hold on honey.
We will try to keep you sane here!
*gentle hugs*
