Just thought I'd ask everyone to drop by for a minute to give a weekly update...
it's been awhile since this was done....
Well, I ended up on Tuesday going to my PCP again, never got rid of my strep throat
from first round of antibotics and on Monday I was feeling dreadful, fever of 100
which is very high for me and very sore throat, so new antibotic on Tuesday and
so still in a lot of discomfort, so I've been posting here to get my mind off my discomfort...
So what's everyone been up to and Screaming Eagle your late on your
"Rules of the Forum" weekly thing...Hope your okay....so if you got a minute
give us some info on yourselves and I wish everyone a low pain day....

     Hello Chart! We appreciate the weekly check in post here...however, this kind of activity should be reserved for the Moderators to post as it has been in the past. We feel it is better this way in the long run.

     Your timming is good though!...we have been planning this kind of activity for a while, and have been discussing this between the moderators. So!....Monday's...will be a Survivor Monday's ...Tina should be posting this starting next Monday....and this will allow members to tell how their weekends went.

     We also have been thinking about starting up the Chat nights again, and have had several members asking about it. I believe Laura...will be starting up a Trivia Thursdays as well...or possibly a few word games. Of course the moderator's will probably rotate these responsibilities so that no one of us gets burned out on them...and also if health issues arise to the point that it is a burden.

     Please feel free to go ahead...and let us know how all of you have been doing since this thread has been started....we don't want to waste a good post with wonderful intentions. tongue

      ...yes!...we are behind on posting the forum rules! Several of our moderators have been experiencing health issues above the norm...so it got dropped for the time being. We will see to it, that this gets started again...and we believe it does help...as many of our members and newer members do not visit the rule tab at the top of the page.

It has been a strange week. My PM instructed me to up my BT meds again, wanting me to take 20-30mg of hydrocodone every day.

As a result, I've been able to do a lot more around the house and go out with my wife for a few meals. But that much medication makes me feel a little crummy. The activating quality of the hydrocodone is now all gone and I rather feel a bit hung over. Still, pain is down.

I've also finished editing through to chapter two of my book -- which was my goal for the month. Next week, I'm off to a conference and have a lunch planned with my former mentor, who I haven't seen for about a decade.

I'm currently filling in a bit of time, waiting to leave for a trigger point injection. I'm also going to ask the doctor about RF ablation and other options.

SE, sorry about that but seems like people need something...I shouldn't be posting due to
my eye problems but I'm going nuts being so ill....I hate being sick as it makes all my aches and pains really act up...

Cogito, sure do hope your feeling better soon, try some ginger for the nausea...and don't
forget to use ice packs on the injection sites...Hope they can help you...

Hope everyone out there is having a great week...

Chartreux…you are correct…and we have had a spike in interest for some fun activities here on the CP forum!

So your intuition is spot on! yeah It's coming Monday….and the Survivor Monday's will be the start. The only thing I worry about is member involvement or lack of. If the interest seem slow and only a few members are using it….then I'm afraid it will be shelved again. However!…we do plan on several different types of activites…..and some of them have been doing well on the Depression and Fibro forums. As you know, they have wonderful Moderators, and they try to keep something going to help brighten members spirits. Karen of the Depression forum, and Sherrine of the Fibro forum, are two of my favorite moderators when it comes to positive thinking! They are real sweethearts!

Sorry to hear you're still dealing with the Strep Throat…please do keep an eye on it. I myself, started to get a cold today…and at the moment I feel horrible again. Yucky Pooh! shakehead CP and sickness is the worst…or at least it seems that way. rolleyes

Take care…and keep your eye open for the "Survivor Monday" Also!…it's good to see you posting again too! yeah

I've not had the best week...Lot's of health stuff going on with my stepdad & grandma that is stressing our family bad. I had a part time job from home that was taken away from me yesterday, but it wasn't my fault, and honestly, I'm glad to be rid of the stress from it. My back pain's been really bad, and my bladder's been bothering me. Hubby and I are not doing as well as we should be, so that's stressing me out as well, which I am sure is why my pains are so bad right now. I see my PM next Friday to get results of my recent MRI and then
I guess we go from there.

I hope everyone is as pain free as possible & for those that aren't, I hope it gets better soon.

*hugs* Chart... Strep Throat is painful in itself I know, never mind everything else you are dealing with.

This is obviously the week for colds and other lurgies - I've been down with one as well. Something up with my stomach again too (probably the gastroparesis protesting against all the extra meds) because I've been vomiting non-stop.

Pain is rubbish - waiting out another month for a revision on my SCS and a ketamine infusion. Bit worried about the ketamine... had to see my PM's partner for a refill today and found out that the surgery and the ket will be done in two different hospitals - that I will be transferred from one to the other. The hospital where I'm to have the ketamine is somewhere I've been before (after I had my pump surgery) and was so bad I discharged myself after 24 hours.

Had a new MRI of lumbar spine done a couple of weeks ago. They gave me the disk to take to my doctors appt and it was so cool. I popped it in the computer and at level L-2/3 I'd had a bulging disc three years ago on my last MRI. On this one you could plainly see that it had herniated. The disc was oozing down the side of the vertebra filling in the, heck don't know the name of the are around the spine, but it was filling it up. So anyway this coming Monday I will have a nerve block done in this area by my PM. Kind of nervous though because last time they messed with that area I developed shingles.

My husband has hepatitis c and is in his first week of a new treatment. It is a very strict regimen of pills with a weekly shot. Poor guy is still working but the meds are causing fatigue, nausea, and fever so far. There are more nasty side effects but so far these are what he is experiencing. I feel bad because I can't help him. One of the meds is used by leukemia patients.

Chart, I feel for you with the strep throat. I had that once and my fever went up to 104 and the throat pain is terrible. Hope you get well soon. My doc gave me medicine to knock me out until the antibiotics kicked in. Don't remember what he gave me but I pretty much slept through most of it.
