withdrawal time

Hi everybody. i've tried no to post but have to ask this.  I am close to having to withdraw from the 5mg oxy i took.  I have a headach now and am mostly worried about at night becuase lots of people say there is no sleep.  i am tough and use  busy bee things to do even if I am hurting.  I don't know what to expect but want to be prepared.  I am tapered way down now and it's time for preparation, 

I tried to get a blood test at Patient First and they totally understood my dilemna but the test alone is 100 dollars and I have to pay for a starter and labor in my GMC pickup truck. My blood presssure is 212/99 and he only far it went down was to 190/89.  I have supraventricular tachycardia and deal with arrythmia. i wanted to see this so called testing.  Also we have gotten no responses from Ms Kim, the nurse to see when we could start looking for a new PM Specialist. My daughter is so angry at everybody in the clinic and I don't want her to be like that.  I am huting too.  It's starting as i am on my one pill a day session now.  I saw in my email that my certified request was just accepted at the pain clinic.  So here it comes baby.  :)   I have bee so busy I am stressed to the max and thinkiung of getting me my therapist back. 

I stopped off at this other chat room (can't say who or what I don't think) just to see what they had to talk about, and they were talking about how one should contact their caseworker.  What in the world does a patient need a caseworker.  Is it to have in case we get thrown out or dropped for some reason or another. I have nothing to lie about and I am hanging on to a prayre and a dime.

Also, what's all the talk about firing a doctor. how can one fire the pm doc when they more or less dropped the patient.  Like me.  Because of my tests were weak and I TOOK my meds.

Greatgrandma, that is just awful! I would call your family doctor because your blood pressure is way too high.

Great grandma I am concerned about your. Well being, if possible can you please send us an update. I am hoping you are handling this or that you have gone into a hospital for care. HW can a drs office justify doing this? It is so wrong on so many levels.

Thank you everyone for all your support.  It's Saturday and I have bp lowered although I have to go see my doctor on Tuesday.  I just found out that the pain management clinic didn't accept my certified letter for request for medical records.  They must have refused because according to USPS it was delivered at 1:59 PM this past wednesday.  Will I get my records?  I don't know.  Do I have to get a lawyer?  I don't know.  That will finish me off as far as being on a bad list for choosing doctors for any of my diseases.  While in bed and in pain this morning, and sitting up in my chair, I have done a lot of  legitimate research since that was a job responsibility while working in government. I liked it. 

I just can't let this go as my name is probably as of now, on a DEA list.  The doctor's have a right to let them know things true or untrue to save themselves and their practices.  I understand their positions, however so many people are getting booted out under Ameritox urine testing and the prime issue is lack of having their pain medicine testing positive on the urine tests. I find this interesting as a person who is now suffering and fighting desperately hard for my innocence . Plus the fact that Ameritox has had to pay out a little over 16 M just a few years ago and this was regarding an employee that knew and did not like the way Ameritox was operating andshady things that were going on inside of this Lab. I believe adamently that pain mangement is the best thing for the patient, but something feels amiss here.  Not only that is the fact that the way they test for certain opiods I.E. oxycodone for one, is not exactly accurate and can cause the patient to not show the durg in their system.  I am not by no means saying that all patients being are , and i believe there are plenty of drug abusers or addicts out there.  But my heart goes to the innocent. 

Anybody can do a background check on me for repeated ER room utilization, doctor shopping, demanding opiates that I don't need or faking pain. I don't have the guts to do these things because I don't want any black marks on my records ...... that's why I say 'by the book'' as far as pain meds. I know that oxycodone more difficult to test for than your standard opiates. 

I won't devulge anything else as this is personal research that i have taken every decent hour through pain to collect for my documentation to get my name off of any list possible that is detrimental to my wellfare.  I will say that what I saw in Ameritox was pure disgusting.   Problems with analytical issues to a host of factors that influence the urine testing for Oxycodone for one example. I don't want to get into any trouble or influence anybody.

hey greatgrandmatoo, i very much appreciate the prayer and i will be sure to keep you in my prayers during this frustrating time for you. i had a boating accident and although i live in VA Beach/Norfolk, VA i am not military. i had a urine screen at a stupid clinic and it was Ameritox that did it. the results were i had no opioid pain medicine in my system,(i was on Oxycontin 40mg 2 twice/day and Dilaudid 8mg 3 prn/day), i took everything that morning but it came back nothing and i was kicked out with a withdrawal cocktail. thanks be to God i have a great Internist who takes great care of me. one thing that you might read that gives us answers to these situations is, "the intractable pain patients handbook for survival", (it may be guidebook for survival), by Forest Tennant MD who is a top pain doctor. he has a website: Foresttennant.com that has lots of resources for advocating treating chronic pain aggressively. the Howard Hughes paper is very interesting. he has links on his website to Chronic Pain Groups that actually help get you placed with a good pain doctor in your local area or close as possible. as far as being "blacklisted", the only people that clinic can release anything to is who you wrote in the original paperwork to have a release like your primary care physician. i know you can be treated by a legitimate doctor in your area because you do not sound like a drug pusher or addict, you sound like a chronic pain patient that needs to be treated aggressively so you can have some normal life with some pain free hours and avoid "adrenal-cardiac syndrome". you are in my prayers that it all will fall into your lap so fast it will make your head spin. Looking at the Howard Hughes website is interesting, but I find it difficult at the moment to find any links. Lots of good reading material. In my favorites now. Is the link your speaking of about advocay groups which is also something I was looking into?

For some reason, I couldn't pull up that Howard Hughes paper. Must have been my phone. The web browser on here isn't compatible with everything. Hey greatgrandmatoo, we're praying for you out here in California, if I could reach through a monitor and smack a nurse around for ya I would. I know if this was happening to my own grandmother, or my greatgrandmother, I'd be at that office personally, but I don't think I'd be very intimidating for them. I'm sure everyone on here feels the same, that we wish we could do more.

My own greatgrandmother passed at the end of June, at 97 years old, she was a great great grandmother, my son being the third of 3 great great grand children. I know if something like this would've happened to her, her doctors would've had a lot of very angry men looking for them, since there's 46 of us great grand kids, all in our 20's, just young enough to think we could get away with it.

I'll keep you in my prayers, I can't imagine how hard this must be. I hope this works out soon. Take care and God bless.

hey Nick- i checked out that website. very interesting- we need more docs like that to help advocate and offer some push back to the DEA and FDA. Funny- we almost moved to VA Beach years ago- i grew up in Baltimore but dad worked in VA Beach- flew down mondays and flew home fridays...we were so close to buying a house on the beach in Croatan (?)

Oh by the way I am about three blocks off the Rosemont exit off 264 in the Windsor Woods area. I love the Beach area but am not use to the all the traffic. wow. You are definitely in the vicinity, and yes you probably could name the exact pain clinic 1-3 tries. I have no more trust in these clinics as this has devastated me. I still want to be monitored because of my health issues. My email to you came back as a failure. I appreciate your offering this type of help for me. mtgman, your right. It's a very interesting website and very interesting to learn all that was written in it. I am utilizing his methods right now as i am without meds.

hi to everybody out there. I just wanted to let everybody know I am just resting right now. I saw my PCP today and it went okay.Mostly talked and I really just wanted to go home and lay down. I had a rough morning with my back and was up at 3 A.M. and still up. My blood pressure is going up again, and since I have good insurance and my daughter is going to search and call cardiologists here in Va. I had a good one from the Norfolk area and had to drive a little ways, but he was good. But he started getting sick and then I just lost him.

The pain does not go away. I did tell my PCP what happened over a week ago. He understood what I was going through but he does not prescribe opiates in a pain management way. So I told him I was looking and he said okay and if they needed records or information on my health issues or copies of tests done for my Thyroid or kidneys.

I will keep you informed as to how I am and what is going on. I am tired and hurting and want to get laid down for right nor. Love you all and just keep me up in prayer and encouragement. it is so nice of all of you to be here for me.
