Tuesday, 4:30

Still nothing, zip, nada, none, zero!!!!

Finally tried to call, was on hold for 15 minutes just to get operator. Nurse or doctor were not available to speak to. I asked if tests came back at all, the woman was going to check and call me back, that was 1 1/2 hours ago. Driving me nuts. It would have to be answered tommorow, as my oncologist and his nurse are at the sattelite office that I always see them at, they are always there as a team on Wednesday. This waiting game is getting cruel at this point, I am not getting better on my own, and tommorow, it will be a full week since I went in for the special blood tests.

Wish they realized how much anxiety this causes a patient in waiting so long. I still don't know what I am dealing with. It could be nothing, or something really terrible.

I really understand the anxiety you have. Tomorrow will come then you will know and you can tell your doctors nurse how panic strickin you have been for a full week of waiting.

I am a fantasy football player and I picked nyg to win so I will see how I made out tonight.

I am still praying for you.

I will still pray that no news is good news...But I do agree that your Oncologist should know by now how awful it is for you to wait on these tests...I can only hope that he isn't rushing as there is nothing to worry about...

I also hope that they can hurry up and put you on medication to stimulate your appetite as not getting proper nutrition each day can make things so much worse..

We are all here waiting with you...

David, I know how freaking awful the waiting is. It's the 'not knowing' that drives us crazzzyyy! I'll say this - there have been so many times when I was waiting for test results and the longer it took to hear back, the more my mind would go to that dark place. But more often than not, it wasn't because it was bad news that it took so long, it was because the lab was unusually busy, the doctor was busy or had emergencies - you get the picture. Of course by the time they did call me with the results, I would be a blabbering mess and they would be on the other end of the phone telling me "Well, everything looks good!". Anyway, just try to keep your mind and body occupied and push the negative thoughts out of your head (I know much easier said than done!). We are all thinking of you.........

FINAL UPDATE FOR TUESDAY

I finally got someone from the doctor's office to check to see if the tests had come back. Yes, after a returned phone call, they are in, but they were marked "to be disclosed by doctor only". I could read something into that, but its probably HIPPA related, I tell myself.

My doctor and his nurse - travel through the week from satelitte office to office. I only see him at one particular location, still about 30 miles from where I live. He and his nurse will be in that office tommorow, as I always see him on Wednesday's. So hopefully, by mid-morning, I should know what's going on. Even if there isnt' a final answer, I would be happy to leave on our cruise next week knowing that there isn't some lingering pancreatitis or pancreatic cancer demon hanging over my head. Any other reason at this point, I would consider to be good news and treatable.

Just going to take a little more patience on my part, hope that I can give you all some good news by tommorow and put all of our minds to rest for now.

Actually, I think you may be right about the HIPPA thing. A few weeks ago we were waiting for some test results and the nurse told us that only the Dr. could give us the info. Of course we thought the worst - but he eventually called and let us know that everything looked fine. I vaguely remember someone telling me that only Dr.s and P.A.s could give test results via telephone. Hang in there David! Just keep picturing that cruise..........ocean sunsets........beautiful sea breeze......so peaceful and quiet.........

Ahhh David,
The anxiety of waiting is getting to me and I am not nearly as involved as you are. You are a saint. When my sister was awaiting her blood test results ( she was diagnosed with adult onset ALL ( acute lymphocyctic leukemia)- the same one that took our oldest brother's life when we were children, I about chewed off my fingers.....she was like you, concerned, anxious but even more concerned about those around her.
I am still praying for you , and for those who love and care for you. I will continue to do so, no matter what that envelope holds in it's folds.

thank you, sandi, and hugs back. somehow, i feel that everything will be ok, regardless of what the "envelope" says. i will still be me, and i will still be fighting the good fight. and i will still be here at CP trying to help my brothers and sisters here.

Hi David,

Yes , I believe that you will , offering your own special brand of support, no matter what the outcome of those results.

You are one of the kindest, most self less people that I have had the honor of meeting and it is truly a pleasure in my day to read your messages to others.

I don't know if I could be as resolved or as selfless as you are but there is a reason for you being here and I think that I have a lot to learn from you....

I will be watching and waiting- maybe in need of a new manicure and a new set of nails from my nail guy smilewinkgrin , and of course, continuing to pray....... yeah

David just wanted to say once more we are all sending positive thoughts and prayers for you.

I know you are strong and you will absorb whatever is in the envelope with strength. You have already been through so much, way more than I could ever begin to comprehend.

I have been trying to find a little of your strength to pass to my sis who is scheduled for pancreatic surgey on thursday. I know she is massively stressed as she and her hubby have travelled here to my city and I have spent the past 2 days letting them vent their fears to me. She is doing pre-op testing tomorrow So my prayers will be for you both.

I'm thinking of you this morning as I awake and wanted to let you know that you have another friend in your court.  I hope you have answers (positive ones) today and find relief so you can enjoy this hard earned vacation.

You always have the best attitude and I appreaciate that.  I pray things will go well for you.
