Enroot...you mentioned taking Ativan, which is a benzo. When I was prescribed Valium (another benzo) I took it faithfully every day then started to take it 'as needed' not understanding the nature of this class of drugs. We can become easily dependent on them...this can happen in a short a time as two weeks. Many doctors will not prescribe them for longer than two weeks, and there is a warning on my Valium bottle to not take more than ten days. However, I took the drug for months. Here's what happened when I stopped taking them every day as prescribed.
brain zaps
dizziness
tinnitus(ear ringing)
nausea alternated with feeling famished...rolling, growling stomach and developed what is called Benzo Belly.
nightmares
headache
the inability to articulate
teeth grinding
sore gums and aching teeth
feeling like I had the flu 24/7
aching/burning skin unlike ANY fibro pain I had ever experienced.
adrenaline rushes
tingling sensations all over my body
anxiety attacks and panic not triggered by any event or fear
I was in tolerance to the drug...decided to wean off rather than updose or start taking it every day again. These symptoms are slowly improving.
I am not saying this is what is happening to you...I am not a doctor. But it might explain so many of your symptoms.
