Tina...I think threads like these are helpful in many ways so that people can see all types of views...
I certainly hope and pray that Cogito is ok with everything...I think my biggest concern is that his PM didn't write down his "approval" of Cog getting this Valium prescript
ion a year ago and now won't remember a thing. He (the PM) may have just talked to the PCP on the phone and said not to worry about
it. If the PM had this written down, it seems they wouldn't have sent the letter to Cogito in the first place asking him to explain why the Valium is there.
This is where I was saying it's really up to us to keep every single detail of our medical records from dates and times of phone calls...and then just to be absolutely safe....to make sure that before the urine test is taken, that we show them the prescript
ion bottle to see that it's lasted so long with only a few taken here and there and when the PM gave permission. Just to be on the safe side.
So, that is why I am a bit worried because it all falls back on us, the patient, if the Dr. doesn't keep perfect records. And because things have ramped up over this last year with more strict regulations and pressure from the DEA...Drs. are paying attention and red flagging Benzos, or Ambien, or even Adderall as I mentioned..
I hope you know me well enough I am not trying to argue with you You know that what I love most about
this board is we can all express different views at times without anyone feeling bad about
it...As I absolutely pray that this is no big deal at all and Cogito has no issues.
As I wrote, I just think this can be a good learning tool for many that may be new to PM and not to be scared, but just for information purposes as Drs. make mistakes.
