That is the biggest problem after surgery. You really really have to follow the doctor's orders TO THE LETTER. If not, you can end up in as much pain as before the surgery and have to go through the whole thing all over again. It is way better to just take it easy for a few weeks and heal up and be done with it.

agreed, kaely, but trying convincing a patient that happens to be a nurse as well, they don't like to practice what they preach to their patients. lol

Doctors and Nurses are Notoriously known to be bad patients, it is simply " do as I say not as I do" situation! Especially if it is their first surgery or first back surgery, after the first time we learn from our mistakes or at least sometimes we do, LOL  I have found for me, that while being in the hospital I am very very impatient, with nurses that do not do their job properly, but also wise enough to know that I have to repress some of my anxieties, because I also know that you don't want to make them to mad or upset with you or anything like that!!! Because like it or not there are ways that the nursing staff can make a patients  life even more miserable, and sadly there are some individuals that  would do just  that!

It is funny in a way because we all wanna do things our own way. I am just glad she is okay and hopefully will continue to follow the doctors orders.

Boy this brings back memories of when I had my back surgery lol. I remember the nurse screaming at me to get back in bed because I had done my two walks for the day but I was up and about again. I was stubborn and in the end it really hurt my recovery. Of course I didn't feel it until the steroids were gone, then wham instant horrendous pain that put me back in bed for another two weeks. So yes, tell her to please take it easy and let her body heal.

Hi David:

I hope that your wife is doing well this evening. It's 11:15pm on the east coast, so I'm praying that she's sleeping comfortably and doing well with her recovery.

I just wanted you to know that I've been thinking about you both. How is your pain doing? Are you able to get some rest now that the surgery is done? I know the past month has been really hard on you and we all have been worried about you.

I hope that you're able to get some much needed rest. Try to rest when she's sleeping, things can wait for a bit around the house. I know you said that you're a bit OCD on things, but you really need to build your strength back up. Maybe, you could do some house chores for like 15 minutes and then take a 15 minute break. That's what I had to agree to with my hubby. I like you want the total job done right away, well my body just can't handle that. So if I'm going to help out around the house I'm only allowed to work for 15 minutes at any given time. It's just a suggestion.

Hope you and your wife have a good day tomorrow. Let us know how you both are doing.

David I'm sorry I have not been very supportive as of late, but I am so happy for you and your wife. Day surgery omg what are they thinking, I hope she listens to the restrictions. I hope everything will be fine now.

Haven't seen a post from you in a few days David. I hope everything is ok with you and the Mrs. How is she coming along post operatively? Anything new on the dr front for yourself? do you have some upcoming appointments? Wishing you both well. God Bless.

PLEASE READ THE NEW THREAD I STARTED WITH THE LATEST UPDATE

and yes, she is taking the updated restrictions very seriously, the surgeon's nurse gave her a good talking earlier this week, and she realizes her recovery is in her own hands. She doesn't want to do anything to jeprodize her recovery time.
