Hello,
I wanted to introduce myself, and I couldn't pick which group to post in. I have 7 chronic illnesses so I can fit into a good few. That is what had me laughing and thinking that it is too bad when you post there isn't a cc: option! LOL. I have to have humor. It is what gets me through. i picked the chronic pain forum because it does all come down to that at the end of the day. I hurt so badly I have been in pain management for a few years already, and my legs are still at a level 10 almost all day. I also suffer from chronic pain in my stomach which has "mystified" the medical community. I am one of those.
I am glad to find this forum because I am alone with myself almost all the time. I am currently disabled and I don't have many family or friends living anywhere near me so it can get lonely. I do have a good prayer life, and that connection is what helps me get back to a positive outlook when everything tells me it is all crap.
Anyway, I live in Oregon but I was raised in NY. I am a single mom to a teen daughter. I am hoping to connect with some people and make some friends. I don't want to go on forever so I will wrap it up. Thank you for being here.

Mercy,
lol.... I have to have humor too..... it's my one coping mechanism, I guess :) So I can relate. I can also relate to the multiple forum thing too..... shoot, I have health issues that would span the thyroid, cardiovascular, fibro, migraines, depression AND anxiety, obviously chronic pain - boards, etc etc. :) It's really not *funny* - but I find that you just gotta laugh and move on :)
Anyway, welcome to the CP forum. We are glad to have you here.... though I'm sorry for all of the things you are dealing with.
Also - feel free to post in other forums, if you wish.
Ok - gotta try to get back to sleep - but wanted to welcome you :) Look forward to talking more :)

Hi Mercy!
I was wondering about
your stomach pain? I have something that just about
kills me at times. I have had Upper gi and endoscopy. Really never got answer to what causes it.

Hi Mercy and welcome to the forum. Without humor I would be lost and surely could not survive. I have crohns disease and do understand stomach issues all too well. That and living with CP is more than enough. I am glad that you found us and please know you are not alone. By the way many of us visit more than one forum too.
Welcome aboard. Take care...Susie

Thank you everyone who replied. I appreciate it. I have been on antibiotics for a sinus infection and they are making me sleepier than usual...if that's possible. lol. **To the person who wrote about
the stomach pain, it sounds like we might have something in common. I have never had a diagnosis either, and have had about
5 tests and 2 procedures. I can't take anti-inflammatory medicine as that sets it off bad, too many vitamins or herbs, or even antibiotics. I have had one child and think when my stomach really acts up that it is comparable to labor pain on the aspect of "level of pain."
Never met anyone with this weird thing. Not until now maybe. I hope to get some rest the next few days. Thanks again for reaching out to me. I hope I can get to know people here.

Mercy, if the antibiotics are bothering your stomach, which many can because not only do they kill the bad flora in the gut, they kill the good flora off too, causing bad things. Get yourself on a probiotic, its available OTC. I am currently on one called Florastor, its working & doing its job because I am currently on 1200mg of Clindamycin which is stout. I was in the hospital last week for two days getting IV antibiotics for a severe skin infection on my left leg. This is enough to send me either in a flare with UC or crohns and so far knock on wood this is keeping the gut in line.
Hope you get better soon.....Take care....Susie

Thank you. Is there anything that I am missing on this site? I have free time now, so if I am looking over something really worthwhile I would love to know.
I hope everyone has a nice day!

Mercy, even if this particular probiotic did not work for you there are others to try. Eat as much yogurt as you can too.

Hi mercy, so sorry for what brings you here, seems like pain really is the ultimate equalizer for anyone. My family has a nice long history of GI problems, mostly related to intolerances of different kinds of food, rather than start with the regular scopes and stuff with my mom when she went in to her doc last year for her first problems, they just started the long process of elimination, and came out the other side just last month, finding that she is wheat intolerant; just a few bites and she'll be in knots and in bed for a couple days. She also has the added fun of getting bad migraines from different types of food.
My grandmother is fructose intolerant, plus gout, and my grandfather and myself are both lactose intolerant. Anything dairy puts my stomach in bad pain, bloating, and noises that can be heard over the tv, as well as the fun talent of being able to clear out a large building in one shot from certain... things. I'm not sure if you might have similar issues, but there is a type of blood test that they can run that can tell if you're intolerant of certain things, that's how they found out my grandmother was fructose intolerant, which also causes her gout to flair badly.
I'm not sure if your doctors have checked you for any of those things, but if they haven't, it might be worth a shot. I hope your able to find out what's going on with all this, and that they're able to treat it. Take care, and keep us posted on how you're doing.
