Tomorrow we turn my SCS on!!!!

Hello all,

Thanks for being there during this very difficult time. Tomorrow is the day we turn my SCS on and try to get it to do what it is supposed to do.

Take it a day at a time. I have been thru several reprogrammings so far and we seem to get better coverage each time. As you heal and swelling goes down things will change. Dont hesitate to contact your rep as often as needed to make things work for you. Good luck and relax!!

Hi guys,

Sorry I didn't get back with you yesterday.

We gad a little glitch :( or two or three :(((

Th unit worked PERFECTLY and I was soooooo happy. The problem was that all of the sudden, I couldn't find my programmer. We went literally everywhere in Savannah looking and praying someone would turn it in. Well, finally at the very last stop, the unit was found at the counter up in Panera, but I never went into Panera, my husband and daughter did, while I stayed in the car. Apparently the unit fell into the parking lot when my daughter tried to hand me the bad and was either run over or stepped on. The screen does not work at all. I just cried.

My rep is going to meet me today in Savannah again (another very long drive) and hopefully have me a loner until I can get another. I can't even believe this.

Not to make things worse, but my husband couldn't find his wallet after we got to Savannah. So, he was driving with no license.....thankfully he was not pulled over. We think he left it on the table, but no luck when we get home.

At 3:00 am, my Pom wanted to go out and I noticed all of this strange paper covering the trampoline (remember it is dark). It's also wet!

It turns out that he must have dropped the wallet on the ground when he moved his truck from behind my car to leave. It was torn to shreds, and the wallet used as a chew toy. Thankfully all of the cards were still in good condition, so he was able to drive to work this am.

Lastly, I went to put on my very,very expensive sunglasses that my husband had bought me for an anniversary present , only to find that someone had taken a stylus and purposely ruined one lens by digging into it and scratching on the inside of the lens. This is not a small scratch, it is completely ruined....intentionally. I'm positive who did it (my nephew) who was mad at me for making him sit in the middle of the back when he didn't want to (13 years old). Of course, his mother says oh no, he didn't do it.....he'd make sure you knew if he did. I just don't get it!

Surely today will be a better day. My unit will hopefully works and all the rest shall pass. Thank God they(my sister's family) are many states away now. He just used up all of his future birthday and Christmas presents by ruining my glasses. It wasn't enough that they aggravated the fire out of my step-father until he literally had a heart attack the day before they left. He's out of the hospital now and doing better with the return of peace.

Oh, it never rains for you but it pours. Why do you get all that bad luck in one day. I am praying all this can be put behind you and you can start again, new programmer etc. I know how apprehensive you were about everything as it was. Poor you. Never mind, it can be put right

As for the sun glasses, I would be seething. Maybe you could have a new lense put in. Why don't you just ask him next time you see him, you will know by his reaction if he's guilty. Most kids can't lie!!

Hope things are on the up from now on and 2013 gets better and better.

Whew, I sure hope all of this drama is done with for you, good grief RM. As for the kid, it would be a while before I would invite this group back to my home. I would insist they stay in a motel and all visits be outside of your home, especially since it affected your FIL.

A better day at last!!!!!!!!!!!

I met my rep yesterday and he was able to lend me one for a while.  We'll have to see what is going to happen to the actual device.  It may be as much as 1300.00 for the replacement parts, but I'm going to keep good spirits until I see the bill.  I sure hope they will give me a break!!!

The glasses were repaired!!!!!! whooohoooo.  I know they shouldn't have meant so much to me, but it was because the were the very first gift like that my husband has ever bought for me.  We had gone out together for the weekend for our anaversary (over a year ago) and he surprised me by us both getting a really good pair so that we could protect our eyes.  It makes a great deal of difference in our vision when we are driving.  The lady at at the "shop" was stunned at the damage, but then did something with some spray that amazingly changed the polarization.  Even she was stunned that it worked.  They look amazing and work great now!!!.  She said that she had never seen a pair look so damaged, but come so perfectly clean and look virtually new.  i have non idea what this product is, but it would be great to have some at home....lol.  All I know is that either the damage was not really there and was an illusion (both visual and tactile) or something changed the glasses to make them whole again.  It was really strange.

Lastly, my step-father is out of the hospital and resting at home.  He is doing much better.  Thankfully he and I had settled a difference before all of this happened so we were on good grounds.  He was extremely uspet with the unruly children and has shared with me that he will not be buying any more airfare for them in the future....if they come back, it's on their dime.

So, my unit is working quite well...af few shocks here and there, but overall I am very pleased.  I did find out that I do not want to sit down in a completely metal chair again.....lol... because we stopped at a local convenience store (which has the old "coke" set of chairs and tables) and I sat down to drink a cup of coffee with the shop owner....it got zapped right good!!!!!!!  It was kind of funny after the fact, but a little of a shocker at the time.....lol

I hope you all have a low pain week and less insanity than we had for the new year.

Well, it sounds like it all has worked out in the end for you woohoo. Yep, you are going to get some zaps here & there, as long as you can stand them, its ok, lol. That seemed to be one annoying thing about the units is the unexpected zap here & there.

I am with you on the low stress stuff, lol. Take care.....Susie

I can use a magnet to turn it on and off. That is a way I don't have to take the programmer everywhere. Keep us up to date.

Oh no, RM! I'm sorry to hear about your rotten day! I can't imagine losing or damaging my remote! At one point last year I thought about asking my rep about getting a second remote so that I could keep one in my locker at school (I was worried about just having one and having it somehow get lost, stolen, or damaged at school), but then I realized that it probably wouldn't be covered by insurance and would likely run me big bucks. Although I usually don't change the settings of my stim much during the day, I still hate not having my remote with me just in case. Every once in a while (especially when the charge is near total depletion) the stim likes to change its settings itself, and seeing as the higher intensity settings make my face & eye twitch like crazy, I don't like being caught without it. It's one thing when I experience the twitching at home, but its quite different experiencing that in public & having to explain what is going on (not to mention that it can get incredibly annoying).

Anyways, glad to hear that day 2 post activation of your stim was much better, and that you are getting some good relief! It takes time to learn how to best use your stim, but after playing around for a week or two, you'll learn what settings/programs work best for you, and when, and how often you need to charge, etc. Pretty soon it will all be like second nature to you. I'm so happy for you that you finally have your stim & that it is up and running, and providing you with some relief! Here's to many better days to come!
