One of my boxes of FENTORA are completely empty second time with pharmacy

I received my fentora prescription a couple days ago and found two days later one box was completely empty. The unzip strip hadnt been removed however the bottom appeared to have been opened and super glued back. A previous occasion a lazanda box I received both via delivery had 5 does missing from the nasal pump. Does anyone have info on this or has it happened to you?

I hope that you reported the missing meds to the pharmacy each time. I would imagine since these were mailed to you its your word against theirs type of thing. I would imagine they can always claim once its mailed they are no longer responsible Thats terrible this has happened.This is one reason I refuse to use mail order, however, I know some have no choice too. This is going to cause you to ru short. I do not know how your PM doc will react to this situation but perhaps if you showed him where the bag has been glued he will side with you on this.

if you have to stay with mail order I would suggest opening the shipment as soon as it is received and counting everything.  Then report shortages immediatly.  It is much more likely they will fix things that are reported on delivery then two days later.

if these are coming through the mail contact your local postmaster and postal inspector. they will open an investigation. also report to the pharmacy. it's possible the theft is occurring outside the pharmacy.

Just a recommendation, I wouldn't just report this to the mail.order company, but also to your post office, it's possible, a drug screen with all those who may have come in contact with the box, would weed out the responsible party. I hope you're able to get this resolved.

I just looked at my boxes of Fentora and what you described about the way it was open and glued back is definatly possible! Just wanted to mention that for those that aren't familiar with what Fentora boxes look like.

I remember about a year ago, I was reading on another message board of this happening to someone else. I don't know if they used mail order, but when they got their Fentora from the pharmacy and got home with it, there was like two or three blister packs missing out of one of the boxes.

You need to save everything as evidence. Don't throw anything away and I would call the pharmacy, post office, and police.

Do you like the Lazanda? My doctor prescribed it to me but I got lazy and never filled out the appeal paperwork the insurance company sent me since it was brand new at the time and not a medicine they even covered.

I would start opening the package using as little handling as possible, then check the shipment, without handling it. If anything is amiss with it, call the cops. They can check for prints. Then, with a police report filed, they can proceed with the investigation, and can vouch for you and your missing meds.

At that point you require the shipper (the pharmacy) to use Fed Ex, UPS, or some kind of delivery that requires your signature. Check each shipment when it arrives, with the driver there. If something goes amiss there, the driver can report it.

I hate meds by mail. And they never give you the option, even if you want to pay the extra, of requiring a signature.

Wow! How horrible, Xander! I don't have much experience with mail order pharmacies, but I know that if you are picking up a prescription in person, you are technically supposed to check and count all your pills in front of the pharmacy staff before you pay & leave. That way you can catch any errors right away, and there will be no suspicion that you are lying (ie. if you don't count them in the pharmacy -- even if you were to count in your car in the parking lot -- you could potentially be accused of lying to obtain more meds, as for all the pharmacist knows, you took the missing pills out of the bottle yourself). Honestly, I've never done this myself. I usually count my pills when I get home, and fortunately I've never had a problem. I think about it from time to time, but I just don't feel comfortable counting my pills up at the pharmacy counter in front of other clients -- especially if it is a controlled substance.

I don't know if a police report would be warranted (again, lack of experience/knowledge on my part), but you should definitely document your findings (at the very least take pictures) and speak with the manager at the pharmacy!

I hope that you are able to find some way to obtain replacements for your stolen meds!
