Hi all

Hi all, Just wanted to introduce myself, 35 with 3 kids wife and all of the fun stuff in life, I have had Chronic pain for the last 10 or so years, Mid and lower back problems, I had surg. in 2010 to no avail, made it worst than what it was. After surg I quit all my meds, this is what the doc had me on,

175mcg of fentanyl every 72 hours
8 tabs/pills of 200mcg of fentora for BT pain a day
60mg methadone a day/
ambien cr 10mg or 20 depending on if I went to sleep fast or not. daily.
Various muscle relaxers with all of that. Was not fun at the time
and my memory of those 5 years is almost not there.

I stopped taking all my meds cold turkey, in 2010, I dealt with the pain for a long time before the meds and still dealing with it now,

I had a Spinal Stim. put in last year does nothing for the pain, going to see a Doc next week in Boston for a Pain pump. Really Im at the point now that I cant deal with it without meds, Im driving my wife crazy in short lol, but Ahe knows what is going on and is a RN so that helps a lot.

Welcome Tray to Hw. Lots of great people here. Good luck on your pump insertion and there are a few retired nurses here as well.Some really great people hang around to offer support and whatever experiences they can.

Welcome to HealingWell and the CP board....

At one point - I was on a similar med load as you were on.... and similar meds (Fentanyl, Fentora/Actiq, morphine, etc).

I basically tapered off of them as well.... and even though I'm back on different meds - it's nothing compared to what I was on before. Getting off of everything helped "reset" my tolerance to some degree.

I'm sorry your SCS doesn't help your pain.... but hoping the pain pump will help. I, too, have had the trial...but, for various reasons, chose not get the permanent one implanted.
