Hi Angelina. I know this problem oh so well. An important thing is to try to find out if there is a trigger... for me, the way I sit due to my hip and back pain is a big contributor - I also use either a wheelchair or crutches, which affect my shoulder, and therefore shoulder blade position.
The best treatment for me is massage done by my physio. I get the trigger points that Tina described, and she is able to use gentle pressure techniques to get those to release. A physio can also advise on stretching and posture.

It appears massaging techniques are working well for you. I think I should try for this one and see what the result yields.
