I am new to this forum,but not to Chronic pain 27 years plus,low back surgery x 5 , 2 for ruptured disc same level ,1 for next level up and 1anterior post fusion and finally 8 clamps two rods and 32 nuts bolts and washers and I am the Titanium Kid.
I have been on Darvocet,Percocet ,ultram ( didn't help for beans) moriphine,duramorph,methadone,vicodin fentanyl and oxy. Highest doses meth 120 mg 4 times a day, oxy 90 mg 4 times a day, fentanyl 150 mcg( 2 75mcg patches) every 72 hrs + 60 mg oxyctin 3 time a day presently 50 mcg fentanyl x 48 hrs + 10/325 perc. 3 times aday.
Now I am set up for stimulator trial anybody get relief? I suffer from intractable lower back leg and hip pain, plus now my neck, shoulder and elbow ache constantly with NO relief pian meds don't even touch it depamedrol shots give little relief.That started after I had a heart attack from stress induced atrilfibrulation. I had mine implanted the 5th of Feb. this year and it works very well. I do have to have it reprogrammed as the stimulation has changed since the swelling went down. Mine is for thoracic pain on both sides though.

I had a peripheral SCS put in. Having great results down over 70 percent of narcotics. The trial is great, I almost cried when they took it out!

The doc's are telling me that they will implant the perm leads and they will exit just above my implantation sight so if it works they will implant the stim. and move the leads inside.My surgery will be on the morning of the 21st. I hope and pray I get some relief.
I try to live a normal life but the pain is so intense and the drugs are marginal,riding my Harley is my true stress pain reliever but with the right shoulder/elbow pain and weakness in my hand I'm afraid to ride, as I don't want to hurt myself or others

You will not be able to shower but the encourage you to try things you can't do during the trial.

Welcome. As i was reading your post, I noticed that some of the pain meds in which you listed, were some of the same ones that I was on in the past that my body eventually grew a tolerance to and they no longer were effective. I have the SCS stimulator for over a year now, and it virtually gives me about 10-15% of relief which is better than nothing in some situations, so I will always need break through meds and constantly having the stimulator adjusted. It rarely ever gives me any back relief, only small relief from the burning of the nerves in my legs and feet. Everyones body is different and if you have the hardware that you listed, you should not look for 100% relief of the product, which Im sure that you are aware of.

Hello Hurtz!…and Welcome! You know when a person can't ride their Harley because of pain,…then you know they must be hurting. I have a 2008 Screaming Eagle Road King Anniversary bike sitting in my daughters garage with around 6000mi on it….so you know pretty much how I feel too! shakehead

It will be up for sale here this next month, as I just cannot do it anymore. It crushes me to have to rid of it, and I hope that someday they will come up with a med or something that will allow me to ride again.
