Well, I'm another day into it and woke up feeling better than I have for a long time. For the past 6 months or so, I would wake up every day feeling lousy until 30 minutes after my first oxycontin. Today, I woke up feeling great.
When I see my PM, I'll tell him that I just can't handle so much oxycodone -- both as the time-release, daytime BT and evening BT. The result is that I'm too sleepy and nauseous with constant swings of withdrawal. So, I decided to stop the oxycontin to see if I could get by without it. In other words, the bad outweighed the good.
I've thought about calling on Monday, however, just to let them know. My worry with that is that it gets miscommunication to my PM! I strongly suspect the idiocy with the last visit is also the result of miscommunicaiton -- basically every visit since I started my oxycontin we discussed using hydro and oxycodone depending upon the time of day, with repeated approvals from both my PM and the PA I usually see.
BTW, Snowbunny, a urine test can determine what my average dose has been over the preceding weeks. It detects a level, but that can vary so much based upon time since last dose, how swiftly one metablizes, etc.. Thus, if I were to take a dose 2hrs before my urine test but not take anything for weeks prior, they wouldn't know. That a reason why these tests are BS! Anyone who wants to sell their scripts just needs to hold back a dose or two so that the test is positive.
