I was prescribed the Flector Patch and while doing some information hunting on it, I came across this forum. I'm a few months away from turning half a century old and have been going to a Pain Management Doc for a few years now due to extreme lower back pain. They can't find anything wrong other than some sign of degenerative disc. I'm trying the Flector Patch for the first time and so far so good. After reading several posts from many, I really don't have a lot to complain about. I'm praying that you all have a good day. smilewinkgrin

Welcome to the boards....Sorry to hear about your pain issues but it sounds like you are working with a good PM Dr. trying to find ways to help you.

I have used the Flector patches many times over the years and keep them on hand to use when needed.

Have they tried anything else like injections of steroids or lidocaine? Or other medications that treat nerve pain like Lyrica, Neurontin, or Cymbalta? And then there are muscle relaxers like Flexeril, Robaxin, Skelaxin, Baclofen, or Zanaflex.

I also do things to help my spine like daily exercise (walking 1.4 miles a day), gentle stretching/yoga, aqua therapy, massage, acupuncture, biofeedback, ice, heat, physical therapy, etc..

Hopefully your PM is one that likes to use as many modalities as possible to keep your back as healthy as you can to avoid any further degeneration or surgery.

Again, glad you found Healing Well and it may be a bit slower on the weekends but it's a great group of folks here who truly understand what it's like to live with chronic pain.

Hello Mini! Welcome to the chronic pain forum!

We have several members who suffer from back pain, I myself being one of them, and had a double lumbar fusion back in 2010. I continue to suffer even though the fusion looks good on the MRI. I also have cervical problems adding to the misery. shakehead
