trigger finger

I found this forum after surgery. Everything seemed textbook fine until the sutures came out 7 days later and the wound opened up Neither the doc nor the nurse seemed concerned but I inwardly freaked. When I got home I used steri strips.
I have been able to move the finger well since the pressure bandage came off I just can't straighten it all the way yet. Am I being impatient?
I've read quite a few of the posts here and was surprised to see such variation in process and healing. Thanks for being there and sharing.

I have had both thumbs released and two fingers, one of them twice, released. It took several weeks for them to straighten all the way each time. I was always tons to keep using them and working with them. If the dr is concerned, they will likely refer you to hand therapy. They will give you specific exercises and stretches most likely.

Don't rush things and open up the wound again. It's going to take months to get back to normal.
Do follow your doctor's advice.

Have you been given a prescription for occupational therapy? I started gentle therapy as soon as the bandages came off.
