Kathy I hope everything goes well for your daughter, I know this is a very important event for all your family members!
I remember with our first child, we went LaMaz method, and went through all the classes, I was in the Military and the Air Force Doctor that we had, had the attitude that the husband was in the same room with the mother when the baby was conceived, he should also be in the same room with the mother when the baby was born! Period no exceptions no excuses. Well we went in to Ft. Dix Army hospital on a early Saturday afternoon, and they thought she was in false labor, so they had us leave and come back in a couple of hours if the contractions continued and got closer together. So we drove around the base for a while and her water broke, but it still hadn't been two hours yet and I was hungry! So I drove to McDonalds and she waited in the car while I ordered something to eat, Then at her incouragement we went back to the hospital, and I was eating fries and my big Mac, they admitted her, and my first daughter was born with in the hour after being admitted. I was razzed about my trip to Micky Dee's for a long time after that!
White Beard
P.S. I was in Photography in the Air Force at that time and I took pictures, 8X10 Black and White photographs of my daughter being born, ( I took them from the head of the bed, shooting the pictures toward the Doctor, so they were presentable to family members) also it was the first time this doctor had ever had his picture taken while delivering a baby, and he held her up and he had a big grin on his face from ear to ear, and you could see it through his mask! I even gave him some copies of the pictures! Anyway I was given the dickens by most everyone for photographing the event, as that was back in 1976! But they are great pictures, and make a lasting memory!
