Made a fool of myself today

Today i mustered up the energy to go to the gym and walk on the treadmill. I try to get at least 3 exercise hours in the week. I am limping due to bursitis and arthritis pain today and was mad when i saw a unmarket without a placard or liscense plate either, car in the handi-capped spot that i usually park in. So i marched my butt in and told the manager, well she was as fired up as i was and asked that i write a note and she went over the pa system and says for the owner of the truck to come to front desk. So up comes a woman and in tow her blind hubby, they explain that they forgot it but had parked there anyway, i felt like THE BIGGEST JERK EVER, i was mortifyed embarrassed doesnt even cut it. I just went to the bathroom and sat there for while hoping that they left soon. I just was mad thinking it was a inconsiderate person ..

See what I find funny is that I have a placard, but since I am young (and look younger) people always give me dirty looks like I am doing something wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if someone did the same thing to me even if I remembered my placard (and sometimes I don't).

Aye you definitely did the right thing. There's a guy I know who shouted at someone who had done this, pointing at the child who had some kind of severe motor dysfunction, using crutches who had to cross the entire car park because (edit) had taken up a disabled space due to being lazy.

The only reason I don't have a disabled card is that I ride a motorbike (less painful than a car and can park it anywhere within reason). Makes me so angry when people park cars in the motorcycle bay because they're too lazy to park properly.

I completely understand your action. Before my CP issues, I made a comment to a 20-something who parked in a handicap spot then swiftly walks away. She responded by "handicaps aren't always visible".

I still see people who may very well be abusers, but lesson learned. They may have good cause and I just don't know.
Still, sometimes, I find myself irked and what seems likely abuse.

Purgatory, I'm in England. You can get them and frankly there are days when I can't get out because I know I can't park near enough to where I need to be but they're few and far between. Today I should have gone to buy some shirts that don't strangle me (bloody steroids and a fat neck) but I knew I'd be in agony with the required walking and I wanted to preserve my half decent mood for seeing my grandma this evening.

Generally I'm good enough to not need them as the flexibility of the bike means I'm usually okay. Handily the hospitals I work at all have secure bike parking right by the entrance so generally I've a few seconds walking and I can just sit in clinic / whatever I'm doing and wait for my patients to rock up. These days I've specialised so much that I don't do much of the basic stuff or invasive work which requires wearing a lead apron so as long as the pain's not so bad that I can't concentrate I'm too focused on someone else's problems to be bothered by it.

You definetely did the right thing Bunnygirl! Even with fogetting your placard you shouldnt park there. Most places or officers will be forgiving but not all; especially if you have your wallet id card.

I have been yelled at and followed several times when I use my placard, I just welcome them to call 911 to take care of it that way. Then who will look like an idiot.
